This is a Country Pub/Resturante which was an 18th Century coaching house set in a country landscape within sight of the Snowdonia Mountain range, a few miles inland from Colwyn Bay/Abergele. On the Pub side apart from the usual draught beers and Largers, this pub sells well kept real ales sourced from Local Brewerys. For the third year running my wife and I choose the Holland Arms for our Christmas Dinner, and again we were not disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by the Friendly staff with a Champagne Cocktail and Canapes. The Menu consisted of four courses, starting with three choices of soup, My wife started with their famous Bubble & Squeak soup and I had the Smoked Haddock & Prawn Chowder, a meal itself. There was a choice of five Starters, all of which was attractively presented. There was a choice six main courses which came with a glass of Wine. Some of the main courses were unusal ie Roasted Cod Lion Wrapped in Smoked Salmon, and a Veggie dish which was a Mushroom,Brie and Mediterranean Vegetable Parcel. Coice of six desserts including a very good cheese Plate Platter.
The meal was finished off with good Coffee & Minced Pies served with a Glass of Chefs Mulled Wine.
Any Complaints ? Yes, I was so full of food I could hardly walk to the Car.
Yes Hopefully we will be back next Xmas and for meals throughout the year.
