“Excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Make sure you book the restaurant after the tour, as it is really worthwhile. The winery itself is very modern and not as interesting as some of the older ones, but the wines and the meal was superb and excellent value. We helped ourselves to fellow diners' wines after they has left and made an afternoon of it!

“Winery Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

We visited Bodegas Baigorri on 5 September and prebooked a winery tour. On arrival we discovered it was only the two of us taking the tour that morning and had the tour guide, Isabel, to ourselves. Isabel's english was superb and she spent a long time explaining to us the way the wine was produced and answered all our questions. If you are visiting the Rioja region you really have to visit this winery - the building is magnificent from the outside and the inside is just as impressive. We learnt a lot about the production of their wine and took home a couple of bottles - just trying to find out if we can get them in the OK!

“Amazing vineyard which offers so much more than a designer building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

We had a fantastic tour in English from a german guide. The tour was due to last 30 mins but actually took one hour. The building design / concept is fantastic - using gravity to minimise the harm on the grapes and the end result is some of the best wine we have tasted in 2 trips to La Rioja.

“Excellent bodega visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

We did the guided visit with lunch at the end and would wholeheartedly recommend it. The visit was interesting and informative (and the facilities are mighty impressive) but the highlight was the lunch. Proper gourmet food, and of course accompanied by their excellent wines. Definitely make sure to go to this bodega.

“Go for the restaurant, but skip the tour.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

This place has a great reputation for their restaurant, but unfortunatly I didn't eat there. I only went on the tour. The winery is ultramodern - but in this case that means it's a concrete and stainless steel cave going down the side of the hill. The glass cube at top and the "floating" restaurant at the bottom above the barrels are the only architectural details that are worth noting. More interesting as a concept than as a tourist attraction. But I saw people eating in the restaurant at the end, and the food looked very appetizing.
