“Amazing Lefkos Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We stayed at Mousses last week, and I can only sat what a lovely place to visit. The accommodataion was better than we had expected. We had loads of space, and a great patio for early morning reading. The grounds were well maintained and quiet. The facilities would suit anyone. There were families with babies and small children up to more mature guests. We were all made for feel welcome. The pool was amazing. It was big enough for all with more than enough swimming space, a paddling pool was also avaiIable for the kids. I can highly recommend the pizzas which are freshly baked to order. The weekly BBQ was a treat, It was lovely to spend the evening with our fellow guests. Nearly everyone joined in. There is anice beach nearby but don't expect sandy shores. The beaches are more shingle than sand, but this does make the water exceptionally clear so pacl your snorkel and mask. My husband and I were realy sad to have to leave when it was time to go home.

Room Tip: This property is made up of small houses in an orchard setting. We stayed in number one which was f...

We traveled to Mousses as a family - 3 couples of various ages, and one of us had a young child (2). Overall it was a lovely holiday for everyone - relatively basic in terms of the accommodation, but close to Preveza airport (30 min) drive and Lefkada was only a 5 min journey in the car so easy to get to and then explore from. The staff were friendly and the facilities on site were pretty good, but simple. There is a mini market about a 2 min walk from the accomodation, but you might be better off going to the supermarket on the main road to Lefkada - cheaper and more choice. Would we go back? Possibly - but the mosquito's were a huge problem as they never seemed to sleep - day and night we got bitten, so go prepared with lots of Deet and long sleeved tops and trousers for the evening.

Room Tip: Room 1 is the furthest away from the pool/noise.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Mousses in August 2012. The weather was perfect, 95 degrees most days and very warm at night (thank God for the air con!).

We are a family of 5 so asked for the detached villa (number 5), which was situated next to the pool. This meant our twin boys (aged 3) could safely watch DVDs back in the room as we lounged by the pool. The boys enjoyed afternoons at the Kids Club (thanks Natasha and gang), giving Mum and Dad three and a half hours of peace and quiet. Our eldest, aged 12, made a couple of good friends with the other older girls and seemed to spend hours playing and swimming in the swimming pool. Pyjama parties twice a week are a big hit as well, especially as it gives Mum and Dad a couple of hours to go out for a stress-free meal.

The location is great for exploring. We didn't do much, but ventured down the coast a couple of times. The only downside is the beaches are rather shingly so for the younger ones, not great for building sandcastles or burying big sister!

Lefkas town is well worth several visits. Only a 5 minute drive from the villas, you can park at the Town Hall before you enter the the main part of town and then a 5 minute stroll takes you along the waterfront and onto the main square. Lots of tavernas and shops to browse in and a lovely atmosphere.

The other special thing to mention about Mousses is the family atmosphere as highlighted by others. You find yourselves mixing with really nice people. Everybody is relaxed, the children play together, the adults drink together (the weekly BBQ is a big part of this) and everybody looks out for each other. I can see why so many families come back year after year.

One nuclear family (mum, dad, 3-yr old & nanny) just got back from two perfect weeks at Villa Pollox (three-bedroom with private pool). Very large living room with open-plan kitchen. The third bedroom has a separate entrance and en-suite bathroom which meant that we were able to host friends and offer them total privacy too. The private pool is 6m x 11m which means that it's not the glorified bathtub usually on offer.

The grounds are green and well-kept. The main complex (10 villas next to a much larger pool) has a pool-bar/restaurant with very good home cooking at reasonable prices. The service was excellent: the owners/managers have cultivated a family atmosphere with really personal touches (the waitresses who remember that you had salad for lunch so why not have something different for dinner) and the other guests have responded to this by acting more like a community - everybody knows which child belongs to whom and we all keep an eye on each other's children. A VERY safe environment.

Our son loved the daycare centre and its four professionally-trained carers (God bless Natasha, Jenna, CJ & Corinne) were absolutely wonderful. He still asks about them which is the ultimate reference in my opinion.

Other amenities nearby are a mini-market 50m away (open till midnight) which will supply you with most things that you would need and a nice beach at about 15 minutes walk.

Advice: Get plenty of Jungle Formula anti-mozzie spray/lotion (deet-based) because there are a lot of mosquitos and they don't restrict themselves to biting only at night.

We have already booked our stay for next year. That pretty much says it all.

A great family vacation
We had a wonderful stay for 2 weeks to the Muses. The outdoor area is ideal for children whom they have made good friends and played a huge swimming pool. The nursery has very good facilities and nannies were very good. The BBQ held every Wednesday is a great opportunity for fun.

We had a great stay at Mousses during the second week of June. We stayed in Villa 3. The accomodation was very spacious and had great facilities. Very clean with a lovely patio and grass area. The pool and bar were also great with a variety of home cooked authentic greek food available. The resort is very convieniently close to the town centre and marina (about a 5 min drive). This was great as popping out to a restuarant in the evening was no hassle at all.

This was our first family holiday with our 9 month old son so we were understandly nervous about the facilities and service that we would receive, especially with our little one. We needn't have worried!! The Creche staff at the resort were brilliant. They took care of all our needs for our baby and they were very helpful as we told them it was our first time abroad with our baby. The villa was well equipped with a travel cot, highchair and mosquito net for our son, we were given a steriliser for the bottles and a hand whisk for his food (they think of everything!)

The creche itself was lovely. A great open space for the children to run around and an area for activities - painting, making cards, lots of toys - sterilised regularly (being paranoid mummy, I asked) and a lovely secure outdoor play area. The staff were very friendly and informative and took me and my husband round the facility before we left our baby with them and made us feel very comfortable. Each day when we collected him, they told us in detail, how he had been (moods, playtime etc), what he'd eaten and how much he had slept. We got a chance to relax by the pool and even go out of the resort knowing that our baby was well looked after.

The pool area is also excellent for children, there is a main pool and a baby pool. This is where most of the children tended to gather and they all played together because they knew each other from the creche. Every wednesday night is BBQ night at the resort. The BBQ is held round the pool area. This was a fun night when the girls from the Creche turned into a girl band and put on an all singing, all dancing act for the kids (the adults loved it too!!). Afterwards they stayed around and socialised with everyone staying at the resort, not only parents of the children.

We were leaving to come home on fathers day......the icing on the cake for me was when my little boy (with some help from the girls at the creche) handed his daddy his first fathers day card, made by him!!! Thank you Natasha, Genna, Connie and Corina for making our first family holiday the best ever.

We have just returned from a fantastic week's stay at "Thalia" (villa no.8). The complex of 10 villas plus pool area and bar was excellently designed and perfectly laid out - Iwe could quite happily have moved into our spacious two-bedroom villa permanently.

We travelled as a couple, although the Mousses is ideal for families with small children. The pool and bar area are well maintained and there was a creche for the kids- the staff were friendly and the food and drink, although basic were simple, good, home cooked and excellent value for money.

We hired a car and explored the whole of the west coast of the island, which had some absolutely breathtaking scenery and beaches, and also found that Lefkada town (only 5 minutes
away by car) had very colourful architecture and lots of tavernas to choose from. We also
enjoyed watching the kite surfers on the strip outside Lefkada at sunset when the wind was up.

The transfer time (about 30 mins by car) from Preveza airport on the mainland was quick, and the villa was easy to find. The villa was well appointed (although could have done with a coffee jug - or at least something to make coffee in...) I will forgive this though, as the shower was SUPERB. Having managed (barely) in locations around Greece with very primitive, leaky, ineffectual showers which either didn't work, were little more than a standpipe in the kitchen, or flooded the entire village with each use, this one was a marvel. A long wait for hot water, but
frankly it was so hot outside I didn't bother to wait!

Excellent value, relaxing chilled out holiday. Thank you!
