“Wonderful Hotel, superb staff made for a great holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2010

Just returned from week stay at Grecotel Eva Palace. Had a great week with the friendly staff, good food and accommodation. Hotel very clean with lovely views and great pool areas. On the down side it is only about 20% English speaking guests, 30 min to local bus stop, few places to walk to or see. Recomend upgrading to al-inclusive.

It's evident that you cant please everyone. Ignore the wasp phobias, 5 star regulars or those that want to dine on the Vegas strip. This place was great for our holiday. Amazing pool, great food and lovely staff. It's not in the centre of town but everywhere is within 20 mins away. There are a few taverns within very close proximity, say 5 min walk up hill etc, that are cheaper and brilliant also. If your prepared to rent a car, enjoy lazy morning at the pool and drives around Corfu in the afternoon, and retreat for drink at hotel, then this is the one. Don't let the dodgy reviews put you off as they scared me and there was no reason for them.

I snapped up a great deal on their website, and was pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, complimentary bottle of wine and fruit basket. The morning buffet breakfast was amazing, with a huge selection to suit all tastes. Every member of staff I met added to a pleasant stay - professional and really nice.

Only downside for me: most of the guests seemed to be in their 50's, 60's - only a few in the late 20 and 30's, even 40's so not very sociable at all (maybe the no kids policy? although no kids = fabulous at the pool). I didn't get the feeling it was much in the way of a honeymooners hot spot, more a quiet hotel for seniors to lay by the pool. Fine if you and your partner just want to do your own thing, but I would have enjoyed a bit more interaction.

And - no Wifi in the room - a positive to chill on my weekend away but my hubby wouldn't have coped

Stayed for 1 week, all inclusive, in upgraded room. Hotel is very impressive, fantastic rooms with dressing gowns, slippers, kettle, tea, coffee, fridge, beach towels, beach bag, and safe. Beautiful communal areas- lounges, bar etc all spacious and spotless clean. Bedrooms spacious, again very clean, and comfortable. Fantastic choice of food , at all meal times, and out of this world A la carte restaurant near the pools. Within walking distance of nearest resorts. Staff very welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. Varied drinks/cocktail list.

Only downside - restaurant says gentlemen should wear long trousers for dinner, some people did not dress suitably, and therefore gave the restaurant a 'cafe' feel on an evening, not right for a 5* hotel like this. You can eat inside or outside, where you can take in great views - however, there are smokers in the outside section - spoiling your evening if you wish to eat outside, and the tables are quite close.

We chose Eva Palace in order to relax in the sun together with our daughter (2 years) and the hotel was suitable for this purpose. The staff was very friendly at all times and the hotel area was clean. The more expensive restaurants (Eva Palace & neighbouring Imperial) were excellent, but the buffet, room service and the pool bar were only ok (especially in the long run). We disliked the cats in the buffet restaurants, but this may not be a hotel-specific problem. The room was quite small and basic, but clean with a nice view. The pool area was nice, safe and suitable for our daughter (despite the salty water). Everything was basically fine without any luxury or extraordinary experiences. The biggest problem was that the neighbourhood had nothing of interest to offer (no shops, cafes or restaurants of interest).

We had a really nice time there, the food is just wonderful, the location is gorgeous and we had an outstanding sea view from the room. Ok, the room is not design... but who cares when everything is so nice and quiet? On top of that, the hotel is just 20 min from Corfu which is a really wonderful place to visit.
