Stayed 5 days. We booked independently and taxi from airport was 60 euro return.
Check in was easy. Had upgrade to bungalow room which are separate to main hotel and in a good location, down steps to pool, pool bar etc and up steps to door into main hotel, restaurant, lift to all floors etc. our bungalow was minimal in style with tv (only bbc news channel) DVD/radio, balcony with seating and sea view, nice bathroom with jack n Jill sinks, hair dryer and shower over bath. Good wardrobe space with free safe, tea coffee facilities. The room was spotlessly clean and the maid came everyday. Pool towels were also provided and changed during our stay.
We also opted for all inclusive. Charge was 30 euro each per day which was well worth it. Gin, tonic about 11 euro, kebab sandwich etc by pool was c. 10 euro, I think cheapest thing on lunch menu was toastie for about 8 euro. AI includes lunch, dinner, drinks but not everything on menu is included e.g, some cocktails, food options for lunch aren't but there is still enough to choose from. Dinner in main restaurant is usual affair of cold and hot options, usual salads, hot meats in sauces, potato dishes, hot served section of varying meas, pasta, fresh fruit, desserts etc. to be honest most of it was not to my taste but everyone else around me seemed to enjoy it!! The Greek wine, also all inclusive, was also not to my liking but I suppose it was free!! I would have been bored of options if staying much longer. Breakfast was also served in main restaurant and consists of usual hot and cold options including fruit, breads, hams, pastries, hot food including bacon, eggs, omelettes, tomato etc plus cheeses, salads etc. again enough choice to find something. The staff in whole hotel were brilliant, very attentive, welcoming and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. There is an a la carte restaurant near the pool bar which we never used. we had an invite to a lobster evening in there but it was c. 65 euro pp.
Evening entertainment was around pool bar area, we only watched one night and it was usual hotel type. The main hotel bar area has lots of space and seating with open bi-fold doors where you can sit by balcony to look at the amazing sea views.one night we got cab to nearby Gouvia. It's about 3 km away and cost 15 euro by cab. There is a variety of bars and restaurants along 2 streets and it made a nice change to go out and sit and have a drink and watch world go by. On our arrival night we went out of hotel and turned left, walk down hill to left and there is a snack bar and apartments with a great view, nice to sit and have drink or snack and only couple minutes walk.
If you walk through hotel grounds, past pool bar you will find steps to beach. There is a beach bar linked to hotel, serves till 6pm but not food unless you want to pay. There is good supply of free beds and umbrellas. We hired a boat which cost 70 euro for 2 hours but beware you have to pay for fuel used which cost another 30 euro but it was worth it as you have some basic driving instructions then you're free to go and explore the coastline. There are also pedallo, canoe's, banana rides etc.
The pool area has lots of beds, cushions for beds, umbrellas, tables etc. there is a shop which sells papers, mags, drinks, sun cream etc. there is table tennis and a keep fit program each day.
Overall I would say this hotel deserves its five stars for location, service, cleanliness etc. My only suggestions would be to put some entertainment on in main hotel bar area, however as hotel had a lot of older people I guess the majority aren't too fussed. I believe children are allowed in main season so age group may drop.
