Loved this place. The food is good the single restaurant on the property takes Care of most your needs.
The ambience is lovely. But pleaee be informed that if you are looking to have some action, I mean a biy of a nightlife, than you are way out of line here.
Overall a very relaxing and rejuvinating experience.

Although we had 4 days rain when we were here it did not stop us enjoying ourselves, the staff are fantastic and so are the rooms. We stayed in seashell on the sea front.

We spent evenings in the bar which was lovely, Mr Big and Eve are great people.

When we first arrived at the pier we got a longtail boat to The Eco Islanda, i think it was about 600Baht but worth it for the views. This can only be done at high tide.

If low tide take the short longtail boat ride to the pier and then the entertaining tuck tuck ride through the island.

All in all a fantastic stay could only have been better if we had seen some sun.

Had to write a review..

Done quite a bit of family travel around the region, mostly staying in the big name resorts such as shangri -la, club med, etc. my husband and i were getting a bit tired with those big name resorts and wanted something different. And islanda resort was different, in good ways. Why it's different is elaborated in other reviews, so I won't repeat. The boat ride and the 20 min tuk tuk ride to get to and off the resort seemed a bit tiring when exploring Krabi, but in the end we agreed this hassle will make even a stronger memory of the resort in the future. What was most impressive was that Mr. Big and the lady in the reception got up before 6 am in the morning just to see us off leaving for the airport. You can feel the care is genuine, no fake. Feel lucky to have spent the year end at such a wonderful place!

Thank you, Rubychun, for your sincere review.

The most rewarding for us, the hoteliers, is to see our clients' happy faces and your kind comment just did the work!

Year end is our busiest time of the year but I can tell you on behalf of our staff that it is our happiest moment as well. Your appreciation really makes it worth our effort.

Glad you enjoyed your holidays with us and hope we have a chance to welcome you to our resort again. In any case, please drop us an e-mail to info@islandakrabi.com.

Looking forward to seeing you again at Islanda.
Please keep in touch.

We booked this last minute and weren't entirely sure what to expect but it was absolute bliss!!

The hotel is stunning - amazing villas, beautiful pool area and great restaurant/bar. The staff are all friendly and helpful & Mr Big is simply wonderful!!

It is remote - there is not masses to do or hundreds of other restaurants and bars to go to but then neither does it claim to have (their website clearly states this - along with the beach not being great for swimming - it's not, but why would you want to when the pool area is so gorgeous?!) I'm not entirely sure that there is a safe in the villas (I could be wrong, not sure we looked properly!) but there is an iPod docking station, free wifi, TV and you can hire DVDs from reception. There are also loads of games in the bar area (Jenga etc). Getting to the hotel is great fun - 20 baht each in a boat from Krabi; 200 baht on a tuk tuk which is great way to see the island.

Food is excellent - slightly pricier than what you'd pay on the main land but it's still good value. I can heartily recommend the lychee martinis from the bar!!

If you're considering booking this hotel - do it. You absolutely will not regret it - wish we could go back!

The Resort is located in a remote area (20 minute drive from Krabi Airport + 5 minute boat ride from the pier + 30 minute tuk tuk ride to the resort) but the travelling time in worth it. When we confirmed our booking, the friendly staff at the hotel had offered arrangements for us to be personally picked up (stress free travelling) and we were greeted with the friendly faces of the staff upon arrival.

The resort overlooks the beach but its not the type of beach (white beach, blue water) that you typically see in the pictures in Krabi. It is more muddy but allows for kayaking but there is a gorgeous saltwater pool that more than makes up for it. The pool overlooks the beach and do enjoy having a cocktail while watching the sunset, it's truly amazing.

Food at the hotel restaurant is good, with a decent variety and the ingredients are locally sourced (they plant their own rice). Ask the staff for recommendations- we found that they had interesting local dishes that was not available elsewhere which were truly delicious.

Rooms were nice, with cable TV and DVDs available from their library to keep you entertained. They also have and ipod dock, free Wifi (the signal is stronger nearer to the reception) and an open shower :D Lighting was slightly dim, but no real complaints there.

There are plenty of activities on the island itself and the resort is a main propagator of local culture. Do take a day to cycle round the island (the hotel rents bicycles - do the treasure hunt for a present), enjoy the sights of the locals going about their lives, the beautiful greenery, the fish farms and the lovely birds. The staff can also arrange for day trips to nearby islands at reasonable prices - all which includes transportation from the resort itself. We took day trips which

However, if you're looking to party, to shop, to eat and try out a variety of food, this place may not be suitable for your needs.

Stunning hotel, great food and great service. There is not a lot to do on e you're there but it's perfect for 3 days relaxing. Hotel is by far the highest standard we've seen in Thailand but it is out of the way 1000bt by long boat. Great that you can borrow DVD's, relax in a bath on the balcony or admire the wildlife in the grounds. Mr Big & his staff go out of their way to learn names and be very personable. A lovely relaxing stay.

Islanda eco village resort provides a serene, quiet and relaxing environment for those who wants a break from all the busy and noise of a city.
I went there with my sister and her friend for a much needed break. We love the place the moment we set foot there. The resort has only 30 units of well-designed villas on stilt. The room was spacious and is cleverly divided into 2 sections. The bathroom is amazingly relaxing. It's open concept makes one feel you are staying in a village house. The staffs are all very friendly and helpful. We mingled with the other holiday makers easily as everyone are friendly.I will definitely return with my family to this besutiful resort.Did I mentioned that the general manager is extremely friendly and nice.
