“sunset beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I ve been to. The ideal time to go would be around 4 pm so you could climb to the top of the light house and be there for the sunset which is almost picture perfect, with the sun slowly disappearing between the rocks and colouring the sky red. it is rarely crowded and is a great spot for photography. Swimming here , however , is inadvisable as the water is dangerous with whirlpools and sudden depths.

“Fun Beach..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

http://myworldonwheels.wordpress.com/2013/03/07/udupi-trip/

Kapu Beach. It is 18km south of Udupi. Since we had to pass through highway, the roads were decent and broad; hence it was a comfortable ride in rickshaw.
Kapu Beach is on the shore of Arabian Sea. You would recall many movies being shot there once you see the lighthouse, which is on the top of one huge rock. Recent one being shot was “David” Movie.
The beach is simply beautiful with huge rocks on the shore and a lighthouse on the rock. Lighthouse is open from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm; hence we could not see the view from top, which I have heard is breathtaking, where stretch of white sand beach is protected by sea on one side and groves of coconut trees on other side. It was a pleasant day, and there were lots of water sports being carried out. We went for Jet ski and Banana boat ride, and got toppled in the middle of the sea. It was a “wow” experience for us, just floating in the mid sea, facing the sun, no noise, just you and your thoughts.

“Quite, clean, beatiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

Just slightly off the beaten track, quieter and cleaner than the more celebrated Malpe beach, Kapu is just the right place to spend a fun day with family. We drove down from Manipal and took up a place near the beach. Couldnt see anyone half-a-kilometre on either side. Some fisherfolk with their boats and fisherwomen going about their daily chores .. that's it!

“S. It is the beach.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

Rarely you find many people here. You will feel like you are the only one there along with the nature. A visit during the heavy monsoon months can make you forget that you are on this earth. But, never go to the water.... it is extremely dangerous here.
