“Improved since my last visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Just to add to my previous review - their restaurant finally started working 24 hours! What a relief. You finally have a place to eat decently if you arrive late at night. Although the restaurant does not accept cards for some reason, but - it is a long-awaited upgrade nonetheless!

We stayed last week in October of 2012. First time in Russia and was very happy with everything, except nobody spoke English. We were satisfied none the less and would gladly stay again. I love Barnaul and the people. Hope to come back!

A reasonably well price and well situated hotel. The rooms are comfortable for the price range, though the bathroom is very basic. Most of the main areas of Barnaul are within walking distance and the airport is only 20 minutes away (slightly more in peak hour).

Late checkout is available and I was informed by the receptionist that you have the room for 24hours from when you check-in your room, meaning of course if you check in late you can check out late (though this may have been a language issue, so please check). Breakfast is included in the price and is reasonable (particularly for Russia).

Ample secure parking is available; though ensure you check in with the security guard at the front gate to ensure he lets you back in!

Stayed there for two nights 2012.06.03-05, and numerous times before while on business trips to Barnaul. The online reservation (as well as cancellation if needed) easy and smooth. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the railway/bus station, which makes it a natural choice if you're coming by train or bus late in the evening as I usually do. Reception stuff friendly and helpful, check-in and -out fast and simple.
In many other ways, a typical Soviet-style hotel. One maid for several floors (they leave a sign indicating on which floor she may be found currently). Tiny room, tiny bathroom with no bath tub or shower booth - water from the shower goes to the water collecting system right from the bathroom floor. Narrow bed, old and bumpy mattress; however the bed-clothes and towels spotlessly clean. Plus! everything works, including the TV, small refridgerator, electric sockets, wall and ceiling lights and everything else - which is not always the case (and I've been to a number of the hotels in Russia and other countries). And finally - what inspired me to give the place "very good" rating - they have introduced the free wireless Internet in the rooms (at least it was present in my room)! It was a most pleasant surprise and easily compensated all the minor faults, since I have a necessity to use Internet extensively.
The restaurant stops working pretty early in the evening so the late-night dinner choice is limited to a small buffet on the 5-th floor, where food is heated in the microwave. On the other hand, the breakfast absolutely OK, just what you need to start your day, and in good variety.
The price of $65 to my mind is inadequate, but this is Russia.
All in all: a very reasonable place to stay for a couple of nights, especially on a business occasion.

The only praise I could say about this hotel is a reception. It's quite modern. And also elevators, of course. But then you take a lot of service I could say soviet. So, you have to check-in and check-out on a floor you live despite you did that at the reception. Then you take a room without an AC and with a window overlooks on a Victory square. If it is not a winter outside you have to open the window to take a fresh air and after 6 am you can't sleep - there is an extremely noisy crossroad opposite the hotel. The bed in a single room is quite suitable for 13 yo but if you more then a 175 cm long you can dry towels on your legs hanging out of your bed. The breakfast is bad as it can be - a cheap cheese an sausages you are guaranteed. Thanks god they propose you muesli.
So I could recommend you this hotel only if you are short of money or a time to find another hotel here.

I have an overnight stay before my flight to Moscow. check-in was good and fast, please note that you can ask a room with Victory square view (Ploshchad' Pobedy) with no additional charge. Room was small with bathtub, but clean, soundproof as well. I recoomend you order a room with airconditioning (pay extra 400 RUB = 13 USD), in summer there are too many mosquits in the streets so you cannot open your window(((. Rackrate is 2000 RUB (66 USD), i think it is normal price for it (hotels in Russia are not cheap). WiFi is free in lobby and for money in the rooms. Please pay your attention that part of hotel is under reconstruction and restaurant doesn't working. There was a buffet room at 5th floor (24 hours), i've try a soup (borsh) and some meat, and was very sick in a next day (38C temperature and illness), 2 days after that i was lying home and try to accumulate forces to new working week.
As for location, it is good (railway and bus stations are in 500 metres, public transport stops are also nearby). Taxi from/to airport costs 300 RUB (10 USD), so please take taxi, not bus. A really good restaurant, Polzunoff, is really good and in 200 metres across the street (Krasnoarmeysky prospect).

I was with a 8 yo. nephew on my way home from Altai. We spent two weeks in Tyungur (unfortunately, Tripadvisor doesn't show any of it on its map), a small village. We were tired. This hotel is Lonely Planet's pick. Besides, it's the closest to the bus station. Outside the hotel looks disasterous. But inside it's very good. We paid around 30e for a tiny double room on the 9th floor. It was excellent. Very clean, everything works. I withdrew money, paid my prepaid mobile, asked about our flight next morning. Very friendly stuff gave me the taxi number. It arrived 4am, on time, about 5e to the airport. I couldn't believe my eyes.
