Osteria Il Borro has recently been taken over by renowned chef Andrea Campani and his uber-talented team, formerly of Osteria New Conte Max. It was based on the more than solid reputation of Osteria New Conte Max that I contacted chef Campani. The reason? My parents had planned a trip to Tuscany and I wanted to surprise them with a dinner that they wouldn't forget. In my correspondence with Chef Campani, I found him to be warm, patient, and, even better, matched in my enthusiasm to make the dinner for my parents as special as possible. I cannot thank Chef Campani and his wonderful team enough for pulling out all the stops to offer my parents an unforgettable night celebrating 25 years together. And, because no one but my parents would know better just how great the evening was, here are some excerpts from the email they sent me immediately following their three-hour (!!) dinner: "the most romantic, authentic Tuscan dinner one could ever experience," "started with a toast of prosecco and personable waiter who explained the Tuscan tradition of the foods being prepared along with well wishes for our 25th. Andrea came by to introduce himself...he was warm and engaging, we could tell he enjoyed planning the surprise with you," "every course was fabulous... unforgettable evening."
Everything I was hoping to hear! Thanks so much to the team at Osteria Il Borro, and when I finally make my way to Tuscany myself, I will definitely be planning some quality time eating at this wonderful restaurant.
