La Lodola is beautiful, thanks to (Super) Mario and all his hard work.
It has so much characture, and has been restored to perfection.
The food is delicious, and the staff (Especially Mario) are great!

A wonderful house with a genuine gentlemen at its helm. The house is beautifully furnished and the view from the pool area is stunning. Free wifi a welcome bonus. Above all, the hospitality shown to us by Mario was the absolute highlight of a highly enjoyable stay, and especially his fantastic breakfasts including homemade cakes and jams. Cannot recommend highly enough. Our only regret was that we didn't have an opportunity to enjoy a meal at the onsite Osteria. Next time!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have the best view.

I highly recommend this wonderful Tuscan retreat. The interior is is rustic, spacious and beautifully decorated with interesting antiques. The farmhouse is set in pretty and well tended gardens with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. The pool area is perfect to relax in. Mario and his family were extremely warm and welcoming (they have excellent English), and during our stay of three nights Mario frequently went 'above and beyond' to help us access a local villa where our friends were getting married. The breakfast here is amazing - you are presented with delicious fresh baked cakes alongside a buffet of other tempting foods and great coffee. The restaurant food is also delicious, and extremely good value for the quality you enjoy here. They will also take great care to explain the menu to you (if your Italian is patchy!) and will help you out if you're after a vegetarian option. Everyone is extremely helpful, flexible and keen to put you at your ease. They also have a gorgeous (rather tubby) labrador called Miranda who will let you stroke her belly. It's true the only way to access the villa is by car, but we enjoyed a walk in the near by fields and it's the sort of place you can happily stay put. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Junior Suite (II) - it was lovely. Quiet with views of the gardens and nearby valle...

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Sometimes it's difficult to always believe the reviews on Tripadvisor but in this case everyone is spot on. This IS a fabulous place to stay. Mario is so welcoming and friendly and even understood our poor Italian! His breakfast cakes are great - fresh from the oven. The Osteria run by Carlo and Manuela is superb and full of locals. The food is outstanding, especially the tortina di cioccolata! Everything is home-made and we left with a gift of some of their quince jam. When we arrived there was a lovely fire burning in the beautiful living room and Manuela immediately offered us a glass of wine. This is definitely the best place we have ever stayed and we can't wait to return (in the summer so we can eat outside on the terrace). We stayed in the junior suite and this has a lovely view towards Lucignano. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, see you soon Vivienne & Nick

We were fortunate enough to find this amazing B&B when planning our wedding! So many good things to say...first, the food that Carlo cooks was by far the best food we've ever eaten! When we arrived to check into the hotel, Carlo was making fresh pasta and the kitchen smelled amazing!

Carlo and his wife catered our rehearsal and wedding dinner and we could not have dreamed of two better meals. Honestly, we think these were probably the best two meals of our lives. Carlo cooks using produce from La Lodola's own gardens--ripe tomatoes, beautiful squash, sweet basil...the list goes on and on. Because he gets inspiration from what is ripe in the garden the menu changes daily. We loved the fact that we didn't know what was for dinner until we saw what was written up on the chalkboard. The one night we went to town for dinner, we regretted it immediately and ended up coming back to La Lodola for dessert because Carlo is THAT good.

We also had half of our wedding guests stay here, and everyone raved about it! Very charming, peaceful rooms with beautiful views of the countryside, plus a nice pool area to lounge around. The breakfast area is a little stone nave that is shaded by a trellace made of grapevines. Every day that we stayed here, we woke up to a beautifully arranged breakfast the highlights of which included a breakfast cake and fresh fruits (many grown by Carlo).

We loved our time at La Lodola and would return in a heartbeat! Thank you to Carlo, Manuela and Mario...you made this a trip of our lives!

We can't wait to visit La Lodola again when we're next in Tuscany!!!

This really was. We went in November time and it was the last evening of the season. They looked after us like family and the food was wonderful. If i could give it 6 stars i would. Real italian food, and a real warmth of hospitality. Thank you!
