Do the sunset walk after a 3pm trip up the East alligator My mother did this walk and at 72 and with a knee replacement was able to get up Ubirr with a little help to the first level , She was so excited to be able to do this . She found the rest very easy to do

“Awesome site”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Very rich site. Rock paintings everywhere. Stunning view from the top of the rock. A ranger provided great talks on the paintings and the buffalos. Very instructive. It is an amazing experience. Loved it.

“Very interesting.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Recently visited Ubirr for the first time and was in awe.The views of Kakadu and looking out to Arnhem Land were spectacular. The rock art was very impressive and it was interesting to hear about the history of not only the rock art but the Indigenous Australians.

“Unexpected gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

The drive to Ubirr was interesting in itself. The wetlands and the rock formations you drive past give you an indication that this is somewhere special. The rock art here is pretty impressive and there are plenty of signs to explain the meaning of the paintings.

You follow a fairly easy trail and gradually climb until you come to the top of the escarpment. The view over the wetlands and Arnhem Land is spectacular and shouldn't be missed. If you have ever seen the first Crocodile Dundee film you can relive part of it here. It was really hard to leave.

“Great setting...what a view!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

Went to Ubiir to look at the rock paintings. The park services were doing information talks about the history behind the paintings. Annie was a wealth of knowledge and really made an impression on all the people there listening to the talk. Even my teenagers were showing interest! The walk up to the top of the rock for the sunset was quite easy. The view was fantastic with all different types of landscape coming together in the one place. The sunset was fabulous and thanks to Annie's advice, got back to the carpark before the mozies arrived for dinner.
