“Excellent way to see the coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

This is a great way to experience the Abel Tasman park and its beaches. The round trip to the end of the line lets you see all the coastal sights in a comfortable setting. The captain provided a running commentary of the sights with some history thrown in. Great to get out on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and just dig your toes in the sand for a few minutes.

“great way to experience the N.P.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

they give you a lot of options of when to get on and off, big boat, clean, even the toilet. interesting sights are explained, all in all we felt very well taken care of. We noticed though on the way back we were a little early at the last stop to pick up people and since nobody was there we left...hmm we were told to be there 10 min early but this was 15 to 20 min early - what if somebody would have just made it...but then maybe nobody was scheduled? anyway friendly service, everything very well organized, looking forward to our next trip there...

“Boat trip along Abel Tasman coastline”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Excellent service, informative and entertaining commentary, helpful staff. We took the Discovery tour and got dropped off for a 3.5 hour walk along the coastal trail before meeting the boat again for the trip back to Kaiteriteri. The scenery is spectacular and the mix of boat trip and walk was the best way to really see the area. Remember to wear walking shoes or trainers, take waterproofs and sunscreen, plenty of water and lunch! Most of the trail is in the shade of the rainforest so be prepared to wear layers to take on and off (we did it on a hot day but needed light fleeces too).

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Did the trip from Kaiteriteri to Amarua Lodge, a journey of approx 90 minutes. On the way you were shown various aspects of the coast by a very friendly and knowledgeable crew. We were dropped off directly on the beach, there was only the two of us on the beach and it was like paradise.
We then walked 600 metres or so to the Amarua Lodge for an excellent lunch and then did one of the many walks available before being picked up again for the return journey. A trip on the Sea Shuttle to one of many locations is an absolute must for any visitor to the Abel Tasman National Park, it is fantastic

“Fantastic day trip into the Abel Tasman”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

We went on the Discoverer day tour option but there are lots of other options for walks/cruises/sight seeing etc. This option included cruise from Kaiteriteri all the way to the top of the park with a look at seals on the way up and then on return journey drop off at Medlands bay and my partner and myself walked back to Anchorage bay which they advise takes about 3.5 hours. We took a side track first to walk round to Bark bay and see the waterfall on the footbridge. The Abel Tasman coastal track is stunning and I definitely recommend a walk even it is a small one! Sandfly bay off the track is amazing and definitely worth the tricky trek down to the beach. We caught the later ferry back at 4.45pm which I would recommend to give you more time for photo's and lunch etc. The crew on the shuttle were very friendly and helpful and good commentary on the way round. The shuttle conducts many stops off which means a closer look at some of the bays. The boats design is good too and the ladder onto the sand means no wet shoes! Toilet and small snacks/drinks available on board.
