“Absolutely Perfect! Cannot be Faulted.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

We found our hosts to be warm and welcoming, they did their utmost to make us feel comfortable and to get the most from our break. The room was well appointed, spotlessly clean, and spacious. Breakfast at Magnolia consists of the finest ingredients, beautifully cooked, and served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Magnolia is situated on the outskirts of Bishops Castle, but is within a few minutes walk of probably the two best eateries, The Castle Hotel and The Three Tuns. We felt completely at home, and our hosts felt more like friends. We have already booked a return visit.

Room Tip: Didn't visit other rooms, but would imagine all were of similiar quality

Nick and I stayed at Magnolia fior 3 nights whilst we were walking and exploring the local countryside. We had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable break, this being due to the wonderful countryside, the friendliness of our hosts Geoff and Elizabeth, and beng able to stay in their wonderfully clean, beautifully decorated home. Breakfast was a real treat and set us up for the day and we also enjoyed meeting and chatting with fellow guests Brian and Helen. Eizabeth's and Geoff's knowledge of the local area and walks was also a great plus for us. Would love to go and stay there again and would recommend Magnolia t anyone wishing t stay in the area. Thanks Geoff and Elizabeth.

Helen and I stayed at the Magnolia for a few days last week on our way back from a weeks break in Wales.
Elizabeth and Geoff are perfect hosts , sharing their beautiful home with guests .
Bishops Castle is a perfect base for exploring Shropshire either walking or driving
( Powis Castle is a must, Ironbridge is great and Ludlow less than 45 mins away).
There are so many things to do, and Geoff and Elizabeth will be only too pleased to share their extensive local knowledge ( as well as providing maps , guide books etc,)
The Breakfast at Magnolia is superb, and sets you up for the day , evening meals can be had in Bishops Castle's Pubs, Including the Six Bells, 3 Tuns ( Both Micro Breweries ) or the Castle Hotel. all offering a unique dining experience.
As you can tell this 4 day Break was fab and we can Highly recommend The Magnolia

Thanks Elizabeth and Geoff , we will return
Brian and Helen

Elizabeth and Geoff were the perfect hosts providing everything we could possibly need from the welcome tea and cakes on arrival and then every day after walking to providing the weather forecast for the day ahead at breakfast. They were the best breakfasts we have had anywhere always using local produce and everything that could be homemade was. The honey was delicious. We had the celebration breakfast on our last morning and it was wonderful. Rooms and bathrooms were immaculate and the beds so comfortable. Magnolia is in a great position with lovely views over the surrounding countryside and the town itself very pretty with friendly people. The whole stay was just perfect and we hope to visit again sometime.

My wife and I had a sad reason to visit bishops castle, a friends funeral.
We found a wonderful vibrant town with very welcoming locals
We arrived a little early, this was not a problem, our room was immaculate as was the rest of the house. we enjoyed a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake, yum.
We had a nice evening at the Tuns (highly recommended) and got truely the best nights sleep we have ever had away from home, in the huge, comfy bed.
Breakfast was as good as it gets.
In short, not the cheapest B&B I've stayed in but definatley the BEST.
I look forward to staying next year under better circumstances.
Thankyou Magnolia

Magnolia is simply fantastic. We stayed here whilst cycling on the national bike route (route 44) and both Magnolia and Bishops Castle were perfect in every way. Magnolia is really well located for the great pubs of Bishop Castle and the quality of service and hospitality is akin to a boutique hotel. We were welcomed by Elizabeth with tea and cake on the lawn and lots of helpful tips to enjoy Bishops Castle. The room was beautiful, extremely clean with lovely fresh decor and a view over the distant hills. The Shrophire breakfast next day was beautifully cooked with superb produce freshly cooked. This is without doubt the best B&B we have stayed in and Geoff and Elizabeth are perfect hosts. If you visit we would recommend the Three Tuns brew pub for beer and food - really excellent and the Six Bells (another brew pub) for great beer and fun banter with Big Nev and the locals.

We stayed here on our way to Lydbury North. It is very close to a lot of walking trails and the hosts cater especially for hikers. They were most welcoming and very helpful in pointing out the tourist features of the area. We only stayed one night but had a lovely cosy room and lovely bathroom. At the top of the village close to pubs for evening meals.
