“Friendly faces in Sellia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We ate at this resturant several times on our holiday in mai 13. Nikos and Nina are a couple that really brings a smile on your face. Greec cuisine with a touch of new flavours. Exiting and wery good tastes. Try the pork in lemon sauce or the rabbit with a taste of cinnamon. Nina knows how to make Cretan food with a twist and Nikos knows how to serve it, and how to make you at home. No fabric made food here. This is a place for your belly..and for your heart. And I haven't mentioned the wiew..

“The best taverna in the Plakias area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Elia is most certainly the best taverna in the Plakias area with breathtaking views, finger-licking food, great vibe and hospitality.
It is owned and run by a lovely and very generous couple, Nina and Nikos, who spare no effort or expense to satisfy their hungry customers with delicious food made with love, skill and imagination from fresh, first-quality local produce. Similarly, the wine - house and bottled - is wonderful, localy sourced and very reasonably priced, same as the food.
My and my partner stayed two weeks in Plakias and we were eating at Elia almost every day. That says it all.
Tip: try the desserts, you'll be thanking me...

“This is a really superb restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

It is not possible to be disappointed here. Every dish is a gem and unbelievable value. The views and ambience are lovely at all times of the day and evening. Nico and Nina the patrons are surprising and multi talented people who speak many languages and create food in a loving way.

“Fantastic hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

A real find. This lovely family run restaurant is way above average for the area. Beautiful setting overlooking both sea and mountains, a welcoming host, and superb food. All local produce lovingly cooked with real empathy, we've eaten here 3 nights in a row, and can't wait for tomorrow!

“Best place in the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

Sellia is an old village about 3km from Plakias, well known for its cheese. Here you find a great taverna owned by Nina and Nikos. It's a lovely, familiar athmosphere far from the noises od Plakias. One can overlook the bay, with Mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The food is delisious, traditional crete with influences from other cultures. The goat cheese cake is a must!
