“A lovely hotel with lovely staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

We stayed here for a few days while looking at property in the area. I think there was only us and one other guest, as it is low season, but everything is still kept looking shipshape and everyone was very welcoming. We had let the manager know what time to expect us and they had kindly put on the heating in our room, as the nights are pretty cold at this time of year. Breakfast was very nice, with very friendly service from the restaurant staff, excellent coffee and a good choice of cold meats, cheeses, cerials and juice etc.

Our room was very comfortable and clean, with a sunny balcony, which is nice for sitting out, even in December. The pool looked lovely, though obviously we didn't think about venturing in. The local area is mostly residential with loads of greenery and mature trees.

The hotel is barely a five-minute walk from the town centre, though uphill on the way back, which didn't bother us but might not be some people's cup of tea. We actually abandoned the car at the hotel and walked in and out of town, all the better for sampling some of the delicious local wines in the town's excellent restaurants.

Moraira is very pretty, beautifully clean with a good variety of very smart shops and loads of gorgeous restaurants - we were spoiled for choice. I imagine it is even prettier in the summer and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: All the rooms overlook the pool and gardens.

We booked this hotel in Moraira for 22 days in October, 2012. This is a lovely boutique hotel with only 16 rooms surrounding a large swimming pool. The check-in was easy and the owner gave us the room with the largest terrace because we were staying for such a long time. The rooms were very clean with a full bathroom, sateliite TV, a safe, free wifi, a sitting area with two easy chairs, a makeup table, a writing desk with chair, a king size bed, air conditioning (and heating which we didn't need), a small kitchen area with kettle for coffee and tea and a refrigerator. There were also two large closets. On the terrace was a small patio table and two chairs. There was also ample and safe parking.

A buffet breakfast was included and was offered in the adjoining restaurant (La Mesa) - this consisted of juices, all types of breads, fresh fruit, pastries, meats and cheeses. Every coffee was made individually. The restaurant is also open for evening meals - and is great value with good food. The chef makes his own pasta!!

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk into Moraira, so it was great to be able to walk for a meal each night and enjoy a glass of wine without having to worry about driving. We also walked to El Portet Beach several times which was only about a 30 minute stroll.

The swimming pool has lots of loungers with tiki-style shade umbrellas and most of the time we had it to ourselves. There is also wifi at the pool.

We had a wonderful time here, the rooms were spotlessly clean, all the staff were lovely and friendly, there was always loads of hot water for showers and baths and the breakfasts were great!

This is a great place for short or long stays and we would highly recommend it to anyone. The owners are very hands on, and are doing everything right. If there was one (small) complaint, it would be the size of the television and the availability of English channels - but that really is a minor issue.

Well, where do I start!

16 bedrooms all with private front doors, kitchenettes and terraces.

The rooms are equipped to a very high standard. (tvs a little small).

Great views from dusk till dawn, overlooking a fantastic large and children safe pool. Sun bathing lounges.

A squash court and if you get on with the neighbouring villa, a tennis court to boot!

Meza the restaurant next door offers great healthy fresh breakfast with all the fruits, cheeses, meats and coissants, cakes and yogurts, trust me the full English you won't miss!! Served until 10.30, so I lie in is perfect.

Sunday lunch is overseen by James a world class chef consultant.

Dinner, sadly shut on Sunday and Tuesday evenings. I'm a fussy eater but when I'm in town I just say "cook me what you want" and I haven't had one bad meal! It's always scrumptious! Wash down with a Criaza red and a Brandy/ Coffee, not forgetting a home made Tiramazo. When the bill comes trust me on this you won't believe the value you have just experienced!

Lovely owners Oleg and Rasa, great waiter, Roberto, Spanish but speaks good English. Everyone lovely down to a really professional cleaner, whom i recommend you tip, for her ability to step in and out of your room like a ghost.

Enjoy, I always do.

JES

This hotel is a real treat.
Great location 10 mins walk to the marina and 5 mins from the shopping.
The owners give a really considerate hands on service as though nothings to much trouble.
The rooms are bright and well equipped with lovely south facing terraces.
There is a fantastic restaurant offer fantastic food and wines. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch over seen by James a really great English chef. I am surprised in my time there it wasn't busier but I was staying low season.
There is an added bonus of a squash court I'd your that way inclined.
With large pool and sun lounge area, I really recommend a stay.
Truthfully, it's really very UNDER priced for everything it offers.
I loved the area so much I rented a small villa next door as my stay extended in the area.
Good stuff.

Not stayed here but have dinned here twice this week. All of the reviews about it being a great place to stay look spot on based on what I have seen. The hotel has a great restaurant called La Mesa with a new chef who makes all his own pastas and breads and a fantastic homemade lemon tart and chocolate tart. The dinner menu is very simple and not fussy and is excellent value for money offering a superb 3 course set meal for €10.90 per person including a half bottle of wine. There seems to be only one waiter who is possibly the nicest politest waiter we have ever come across. The restaurant is very quiet and we sat on the outside terrace but on the second visit sat inside on a balcony overlooking the pool and thinking what a lovely place to come and stay. It's located just outside the town centre so if you did stay here a short walk to town or if staying in town a short walk to come and dine here. The chef also made a point of coming out to speak to the dinners asking for feedback as he is new to the restaurant, all I can say is what a lovely chef! We still have a other week of our holiday left and will plan at least two more visits. La Mesa also offers a breakfast and lunch time service (they also have free Wifi a must for all those FB and 4 Square check ins)

Room Tip: All rooms have a balcony and view of the pool, breakfast is continental only
