On our last day in Moraira we treated ourselves to the menu degustation for a late lunch. The weather was terrible, in pouring rain we decided to find a parking space and eat at the closest restaurant to the car - not necessarily the best way to choose but it paid off as the first space we found was right outside La Sort. The tasting menu featured 5 or 6 small courses including Iberian pork, scallops and butternut squash. One of our party was vegetarian - her menu choices were limited but after initial incomprehension from the spanish head waiter that any one could possibly not want to eat meat or fish (he seemed to think fish were almost a vegetable) he rose to the challenge and produced a variation of the menu degustation that did not include all of the courses but was a considerate and well received effort. The chef come over to check that we were enjoying his creation and that the vegetarian alternatives were acceptable. We would definitely return for a special occasion - but maybe not just because its cold and wet and they are the nearest to the car!
