“Welcoming Warming Eatery for a Wet Wintery Evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

This restaurant & takeaway was recommended by a local and was very pleasant once inside out of the wet weather. The smart basement restaurant area was well laid out and spotlessly kept. A cosy corner table was selected. A large jug of fresh water and a glass was fetched as soon as settled in at the table along with the menu of course. Service was timely without being hurried. While sat eating a steady number of take-away patrons came and went.

Firstly a pleasant par of popadoms was enjoyed with the pickle tray. Next were some nice fresh warm onion bhajis, complemented by some green salad with a slice of tomato and a section of fresh lemon. The main chosen was Tandoori Lamb Tikka [offered either dry or with a creamy masala sauce] accompanied by egg fried rice. This was well cooked, nice and hot but not too spicy.

All for under £15--..! Very good quality, value and very well done!

One slight downside was that there was apparently no [alcohol] licence but you could bring your own! Also it should be noted the establishment only accepts cash payments although there are a few cash machines close by in the town centre.

“Definitely will return!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013 via mobile

we have been meaning to try the restaurant out as we have had takeaways before and thought it looked nice inside. So when a recent leaflet arrived at our house advertising buy one get one free on meals on Sunday and Wednesdays this was the push we needed! Very impressed with our meals. Plenty of food and very tasty.we each had a different curry and all enjoyed each one. It is only a small dining area but plenty of room around our table, we didn't feel squashed in at all. You can also take your own drinks so an added bonus to take your own wine rather than the inflated prices many restaurants charge. All in all a very pleasant evening and we will definitely return.
