“The Jewel in the Crown of the Premier Inn group!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2011

Superb and genuinely friendly welcome, spotlessly clean and wonderfully quiet at night. Just a pity that there are no baths (because it is a former Holiday Inn Express)

We stayed for two nights with my son, daughter, their partners and children. The staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful, in particular the receptionist amongst other things was kind enough to ensure our rooms were opposite/adjacent to each other which was much appreciated. From the outside the hotel looks smart and once inside it doesn't disappoint, our room was very clean and comfortable.

Although we didn't have breakfast at the hotel my daughter and family did and were very impressed.

We would certainly recommend a stay at this hotel and if we get the opportunity would love to stay there again.

Highly recommended made to feel very welcome. Staying with our children the manager was very helpful ensuring we had adjacent rooms with other family and nothing was too much trouble. Harvester next door also does a decent breakfast!

We stayed for two nights with our adult son who has special needs and were appreciative of the fact that he was able to stay with us in a triple room. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times and the room was clean and comfortable. We had expected a basic, buffet style breakfast but found it to be much better than anticipated with a cooked breakfast made to order and a choice of fruit, cereals and yoghurt. On the second morning it was very busy in the dining room, but the staff remained helpful and pleasant despite having a lot of people to deal with. I would certainly recommend using this hotel if you want value for money and good service.

Nicely surprised to find that this was once a HI Express and so had familiar room layout with good soundproofing.

I also liked the self-service breakfast which makes a quick gateway easy. The staff were friendly and service was swift. I do plan to return in a couple of weeks.

I did have the misfortune of hearing load music from parked cars at the back of the hotel, late in the evening just as I was dropping off to sleep. If this happens during my next stay there, then it will be the last. I don't know what the hotel could have done about it however and I didn't complain to them.

We booked a weekend stay here for no other reason than budget, but were very pleasantly surprised to find better facilities and service than we have encountered in many "proper" hotels at a much higher price. The staff were friendly, approachable, efficient and helpful. The rooms, though basic, were clean and comfortable and the mattress was better than the one we have at home. The big surprise was the breakfast, which was generously sized and delicious as well as excellent value - the children ate free (which, considering they are healthy fourteen-year-olds who often eat more than the average adult, was a real bargain). We arrived on both mornings just minutes before serving officially ended, but both times got friendly relaxed service with no sense of hurry. There was a huge continental-style buffet plus a full English cooked to order. Staff chatted to our kids and seemed genuinely interested, asking us each evening if we had enjoyed our day and remembering where we had been. It you ignored the fact that it was in a layby off an A road, you could have believed you were in a small family hotel rather than a chain motel.
If all Premier Inns are like this one, good luck to them - they deserve success.

The service was the best. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is convenient - breakfast is tasty and plentiful. The staff is exceptional and management should be very proud of them. There is nothing I disliked about this hotel.
