“Lovely quaint hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We where greeted by a friendly helpful receptionist, who showed us to our rooms, which where lovely. We could park right outside which was great as we had large suitcases, we booked two rooms as our teenage children where travelling with us. We ate in at night and enjoyed the open fire in the dining room. The room was quite during the night and no noise from traffic.

Room Tip: Stay in the rooms not in the main building as I think there would be less noise from other guests in...

We were greeted by a very friendly Receptionist who took the time to give us helpful and friendly advice on the area. Our room was lovely, exceptionally clean and welcoming. We loved the character of the place, someone has taken time and effort to find antiques and items which complement the character of the building. We were impressed with the attention to the little things - hot water bottle on back of bathroom door, plenty of hot chocolate/tea/coffee available in the room. I accidently spilt a drop of coffee on the tablecloth in our room which was amazingly replaced by the next day! All the staff were friendly but professional. The breakfast was WONDERFUL - thank you. The little pots of jams/marmalade were appreciated. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only constructive comment I might make was that the shower was a little lacking and tired but we would definitely stay here again if we came to the area. Thank you for a great stay.

This hotel was a find!! Full of character and quiet this hotel is very much worth the money. A perfect place to stay if you like character but wouldnt recommend to someone who is looking for somewhere with modern styling.

Bed was super comfortable with memory foam topper. Little extras were supplied that I was not expecting included hot water bottles, book lighting and a TV.

Breakfast was delicious too. Good quality full english which was freshly cooked when ordered and a buffet with a choice of cereals and fruit juices. Home made condiments were supplied too. Very tasty. Could not fault!

Just a 15 min walk to Trowbridge train station which we caught to Bath for the day. The journey to Bath via train is around 15 mins which is great!

Will definately be visiting again in the near future!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 18 which is in the eves of the house. Exposed beams and full of character. Photos...

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this quirky hotel. The place is full of character, with lots of antiques around the place which are in keeping with the age of the building. Our room was extremely comfortable; lovely bed, sitting area and ensuite.
We dined here on both nights, mainly because of convenience. Food was ok, but nothing to shout about. Staff at breakfast were extremely friendly and efficient, although the size of the sausages and the quality of the scrambled egg left something to be desired. We used a wowcher, which made it excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend and return again.

Me and my partner had a very nice break in Bath and stayed at the Old Manor for 2 nights.

Reading reviews before and after our stay, I'm confused as to how people can complain about an original listed building, looking 'tired' or 'needing work', surely if that isn't your thing, don't book to stay at a hotel called The OLD Manor! And as for complaining about rainfall and resulting puddles?! It beggars belief what some people will try and pin on the staff and owners!

The rooms are very clean and comfortable with plenty of character, beds are big and dangerously comfortable, so set those alarms if you're heading into Bath which is a handy 20 min scenic drive away.

Food was very nice, served quickly by the friendly staff. Very much enjoyed the homemade jams and marmalade which were plentiful at breakfast, nice touch.

Upon checkout we were wished all the best and all in all had a very, very nice break.

Keep up the good work guys!

Steve & Katie.

Room Tip: Go for one of the upgrade rooms in the adjacent building to the main, well worth the small added ext...

Just a comment on the recent review comparing dinner at the Old Manor Hotel with the Seven Stars in Winsley. For locals, the Seven Stars is an excellent pub/restaurant, but the prices mean we just dine there on special occasions, whereas the Old Manor provides excellent food at a more affordable price. The Seven Stars has just changed hands, so hopefully the new owners will provide a dual menu of restaurant meals and reasonably priced bar meals.

The Old Manor hotel, a grade 2 listed 21 bedrooms Manor house situated on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon/ Trowbridge and a 15 minute drive from the Bath Spa.
