Stayed here for one night during my Bangkok overlay and I have to say I underestimated the distance from the airport; it took about 35-40 min. to get there using the highway and you have to pass 3 toll booths. If you use a metered taxi, the toll fees (of about 100 THB) are on you. You also have to pay an additional surcharge of 50 THB for any airport transfer (rules are noted on airport transfer booth). Upon arrival at the hotel, the meter read about 325 THB.
I was happy that check in was handled swiftly. Afterwards the bellboy accompanied me to my room while carrying up my luggage. Nevertheless I was a bit taken aback by the size of the room; I had booked a kingsize room, which was so small that it seemed more like a single room. The room itself was very clean however and had a very modern interior, with a glass wall separating the bedroom from the bathroom. The shower had good water pressure and an adjustable showerhead with a rain shower option. The roomservice menu was quite limited, consisting of no more than 4 pages, although the service was good (friendly and fast). A breakfast buffet is offered in the mezzanine at a fixed price/rate of 700 THB.
In the morning, I asked the reception desk staff to assist me in finding the correct postage for sending a postcard overseas. They informed me that they would look into it and get back to me. When I went back down to the lobby after a while, they told me that they didn’t know the correct postage and that I could just find out at the post office at the airport. Since a quick phone call in Thai to the post office would have answered my question, I think this was a bit lazy on their part. In addition, I had asked the hotel to call me a taxi, just before checking out. When I came down to the lobby after a while, I was disappointed to learn that the taxi driver had arrived 10-15 min. ago and the reception desk hadn’t bothered to call up to my room to let me know.
In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to a friend. The location is inconvenient (too far from the airport and too far from the city center, with no good stores or even 7-elevens around). Although the hotel itself is very clean and has a great modern interior, the service of the reception desk could definitely be improved upon.

I'm very sorry to learn that you left with a poor impression of our hotel. Please accept my apologies for the poor service that you encountered with the reception staff, and my thanks for beinging it to my attention. The poor communication and lack of follow-up with your simple requests should never be a problem, and has been reviewed in detail with the manager and service team.
I certainly understand your disappointment if expecting a city center or airport address. Our location is ideally suited for guests attending events at the IMPACT complex, or doing buisiness nearby. Thank you again for your candor, and for trying Novotel Bangkok IMAPCT.
