“Impressive Temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

We were at Vadakkunnathan temple during Onam festivities one eve. The temple is large and impressive. We could not really see the all the temple features as we visited during the eve but it did make a strong impression. The temple only admits hindus.

“"Ancient Shiva temple"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

One of the largest and ancient Shiva temples in India. It is in the heart of Trissur town but the massive stone wall surrounding the temple creates a religious and serene atmosphere inside. There are three main shrines inside. Check out the mural paintings and wood carvings in the temple complex. Shoes are not allowed inside the complex- deposit at the shoe-stand outside. Dress code- men have to remove their shirts before entering and women have to be dressed conservatively.
