“I heart St Fort Country House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

I was fortunate enough to spend 5 glorious days in Clarens and had the most wonderful time with some very special friends. St Fort Country House is situated in the most beautiful setting, which can literally take your breath away. The rooms were very comfortable and homely and the staff went beyond their call of duty. I now live in Australia and I am looking forward to bringing my family for a visit to Clarens and the fabulous St Fort Country House. Highly recommended!!!

My wife and I decided to travel through the Karoo and surrounds before the arrival of our first child. My wife was 7 months pregnant and we covered a lot of ground. We found St Fort Country House and ended up spending two wonderful nights. The views and surrounds are spectacular.
The rooms are huge, total comfort and a feeling of country warmth and luxury.
The weather wasn't great, which actually suited us - we spent quality time relaxing in the lounge, reading, watching TV, snuggling in bed.
The breakfast was brilliant and staff/owners are accommodating and make you feel like family.
A truly romantic and memorable weekend, and on the to-do list once we get to leave baby at home.

We stayed a few days @ St Fort. Wow what a beautiful place! First class hospitality with Ernestine and her delightful crew! The rooms were so comfortable. Looking forward to bringing our children with us next time. Ample space for them run and ride bikes.
Home from home! Most definately the place to stay when in Clarens!

St Forts has a very special place in our hearts. We have been going there for the past nine years with the same group of friends. Before we all had children and now having them all with us. Our annual weekends are a treat that we all look forward to. It's so wonderful to have found such a gem in such a beautiful part of the world.
We rent the house out for the whole weekend, take long walks and a trip or two into town. The kids have been hiking to mushroom rock since some have been toddlers !
We have made many happy memories at St Fort, are always welcomed with open arms and would not hesitate to recommend as a wonderful little piece of our country that should not be missed !
We all spend allot of time in the wonderful farmhouse kitchen and many hours around the fire. The rooms are so cosy and service always wonderful.
Thanks to St Forts for all the memories, and long may we continue to return.

Great spot on the outskirts of Clarens which had a very homely and warm feeling to the place. Close enough to the town that you get to enjoy everything Clarens has to offer, but far enough out of town that you get the real farm feeling. Some great walks in the surrounding mountains which we seriously enjoyed. If you are headed Clarens way, you needn't look further than a stay at St. Fort.
