My partner and I spent two weeks traveling throughout Tuscany and by far Casa Portagioia was the best overall Tuscan experience we encountered from the hospitality, first class amenities, immpeccible keptsgrounds, the view, the pool and the amazing food.

Terry, Marcello (and Tosca & Sammy) were such wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome the minute we arrived. They were helpful in reccomending and making reservations for wine tours and restaurants in the area.

The grounds were absolutely breathtaking!! The lavender walkway up the pool was gorgeous! The pool was such a wonderful relaxing haven after a full day of walking through various Tuscan towns. (Terry did try to teach me to pull weeds around the pool but I nicely declined. Terry has this funny sense of humour that you will love!!)

We experienced Marcello's culinary magic one evening and was in heaven. The food was so fresh and the whole dining experience was special.

We would highly recommend Casa Portagioa to Adults who would love a beautful escape to relax.

Like others who write reviews of this superb property, I'm a little fearful it will get booked too early, which is what happened to us this year. But we are going for 8 days starting next week and we have been there each year they have been opened. Although the place is perfectly situated and meticulously appointed, it is Marcello and Terry who make it magic. Read P.G. Wodehouse before arrival and you will get the sense that you've been invited to the countryside villa of true, eccentric friends. Bring at least two bathing suits. The pool is inviting and private. Breakfasts and weekly gourmet feasts are the best in Italy. My screensaver is a low angle shot of the main buildings from the pool. I dream about Casa Portagioia all year. Hope to meet you there sometime!

I wanted to stay for a day or two in the tuscan hills, while I had traveled to Italy my nephew had not. This was a spring break trip for us, he was a senior in high school, so he was 18. My nephew is straight but knows I'm not.
We both loved this place, since it was early in the season, it was just a couple of people, they had just filled the pool and it was to cool to try the pool out.
Terry and his partner were wonderful, I loved getting to see all the pictures of the before and after of all the work they had done.
Terry is very knowledgable and friendly and certainly willing to help you enjoy your vacation.
My nephew enjoyed our stay there, I did too, I really enjoyed having fresh squeezed blood orange juice, I have never had blood oranges that tasted as good.
Lot's to see around the area within a short drive and Terry will make recommendations of where to go and how to get there.
