Rungstedgaard looks really good on the outside, nicely situated between the forest and the sound. However, beyond the crisp hotel lobby, there is absolutely nothing.
The rooms do not match the hotel image, location or price at all. I stayed at, as I see on the pictures here, a typical Rungstedgaard room. The furniture looked more like it had been bought second hand from the local government office (there was an old stationary PC on the room...)
The bathroom was ice cold, old and not clean.
The electrical system was old, with wiering all over the place. There were two bedside lamps with cords going nowhere. Or more precicely, they went under the bed, where there were no sockets, ergo no lights. There was, however an extension cord under the bed as well, but it was way too short to reach the only socket on the other side of the room. Pure deception...
I can not express enough how unwelcoming these rooms are. A very good example that you can't judge the book by its cover!
I do like that there are coolers with free water bottles, as well as good coffee machines all over the hotel. But this is pretty much all you have access to. You should make sure you won't get hungry during the evening, as the only way you will get a snack, is to elbow your way through some conference afterparty in the hotel bar. No minibar, no room service and no nearby convenience store.
