We looked at Tripadvisor and saw that this was #1 restaurant in Coron, but it isn't in "the town". We had to take a tricycle (10 peso per person) but not all drivers know where it is. After asking 3 drivers, someone finally knew and took us there.
The place is basically a build-your-self hut/shack. All furniture are pretty much homemade. As the other reviews said, the menu is chalk board, hand-written and changes everyday depending on the ingredients they could get. Our friends recommended us to go and try Lumpia and smoothie because they were apparently AMAZING, but when we arrived, they didn't serve Lumpia that day. Many dishes on the menu were Filipino food and we needed a lot of explanation from a young man who barely speaks English, but we made it through. I ordered fish with yellow rice, my boyfriend ordered fried pork something and we ordered tuna spring rolls to snack.
The tuna spring rolls were amazing! Every bite tasted better and better! The smoothie was very very good! It is generally difficult in Coron to find a nice smoothie/shake but this place has got it! My fish dish tasted quite good, and the flavour of my boyfriend's pork dish was good too. Remember though, that this is Filipino food, which means that it is not pork meat, but pork belly (fatty pieces). We were disappointed with this meat situation, but it is normal in the Philippines to eat this, so I guess we just had to live with it...
This place doesn't serve any dessert or coffee, so after the food, there is nothing to do other than to get going, which is fine because the chairs do not have back rests on them, so I was getting a bit tired in my back anyway. Rather than eating in town, this place will give you a "break" from the fumes and the sound with a nice rustic atmosphere. The food is all homemade and the flavours are just something you must try for yourself!
