“Very ok for 1 night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Simple but clean rooms, friendly staff! Room without windows, cold shower. AC. Location is very good to organise several things in town. We stayed one night before we went on the tao expedition and this was fine.

Being a young couple away from home can be a fun adventure, but when i had an allergic reaction to a lotion i put on my suncream on a deserted island things quickly turned bad. Early the next morning we got a boat back to Coron. Our guides however didn't speak english very well and so we head off into the town trying to find a pharmacy. I Had heard that the Owner of villa hermosa was a friendly and helpful lady and we decided to drop our things off for the day and ask for directions of a pharmacy. I had definitely heard correct. The owner was an absolute life saver and an angel. She took a look at my sunburn and sent us with her daughter to the local pharmacy to make sure we found some anti histamines and when we returned she let me use her own personal alo vera gel which was heaven! She also let us check in at 8am when check in is at 2pm
We extended our stay to 2 nights and she told us to fix it up when we get back from our tour (which i didn't think we would make)
The hotel is in a great central location and we found it extremely affordable (we stayed in the standard double with shared bathroom)
The bathrooms and halls were always clean, we saw staff scrubbing and sweeping the halls daily, something that must be a challenge with such a dusty town.
The owner was always happy to point us in the direction of sights and restaurants.
We would not hesitate staying any time we got to Coron again.
The only down side is the black outs can make the rooms a bit stuffy, but that happened in the other hotels we stayed at too.
oh and our room also had its own sink which is a bonus when we usually stay in shared bathrooms. so it was very handy for washing our faces and freshening up.

Room Tip: We would stick to the standard double, we found it extremely affordable and the bathroom was only do...

We stayed at Villa Hermosa for two nights last January. Booking was easy. The owner's assistant, Letian is charming and replies to emails and queries. She also arranged for van transfer to pick us up at the airport. Since we booked early, we were upgraded to the "Coron Island" room or the "Big Room". The room is very nice. It has a/c, two double beds, a toilet and bath, a wash basin and tv. Pretty neat for the price if I may say. When I described the room, don't think of luxury hotel rooms, remember this is a pensionne house, a lovely one so the rooms are pretty basic :) On top of that, tita Susan was very accomodating. She asks us from time to time if we are enjoying our stay. Letian also assisted us in booking our island tour at Coron Galeri which was really an awesome experience! Coron is really beautiful. The places we went to are such a marvel to behold :) And the people are very kind. We enjoyed every bit of our stay there. Our only regret is that our vacation was a short one. But on the positive note, it gives us the reason to go back for a longer stay in the future :)

This was the first place we stayed throughout a 5 week trip in the Philippines. We stayed in the Kayangan Lake room for P1,000. Having spent 5 weeks travelling the country and being able to compare accommodation options, I wouldn't call this good value. The bed is very small and the room is also. The bathroom is the type where it's so small you could almost shower while sitting on the toilet. While it probably was clean, as other reviewers mentioned, it was musty so did not feel clean. The owner is an absolutely lovely woman, but if I returned to Coron I would not stay again. I think you could certainly find better value places.

we booked a room here because the place looked good on photos, and based on the number of reviews, we thought this would be a great choice. villa hermosa didn't live up to our expectations though. it didn't smell and feel clean (the dogs were more of the owner's priority). it felt muggy and dirty in the rooms :( another major thing, the owner and her husband kept smoking inside which was really a pain for asthmatics like us. we tried to not mind as we spent most of our time around town and doing island-hopping, and just went home late and tired to be able to sleep through the 2nights we reserved (worse part, we couldn't cancel anymore as we paid in advance). we stayed longer in coron but moved to a better place somewhere in town.

the only thing we liked there was the mosaic tiles and creative use of indigenous materials for the rooms. backpacking couples can find a more worthy place to stay (for the same price or so much LESS) in other B&Bs in coron.

Room Tip: rooms fronting the bay or in the outskirts (a bit farther from the center of town) are so much bette...

Staff is pleasant and the price is okay but we found much nicer accommodation nearby for only 300p per night more.
We paid 1000p per night for a large room with two beds. The beds were foam on wood so I woke up with a sore shoulder. The walls and floor are concrete and open spaces above the door allow all manner of noises to come from the hallway or outside. A cat in heat was quite loud.
There is no running hot water although the staff brought me a pot for shaving. The power was only available about 50% of the time but brown-outs in Coron are common so if you want steady power, make sure your hotel has a generator.
Room was windowless and a bit musty when we arrived but they allowed us to leave on the aircon when we were out of the room so, when the power was on, the air quality in the room improved.
