“Teeming sea life and corals at Skeleton Reef”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

We arrived here late afternoon on our first day. The Skeleten Reef can be seen from your boats due to the clarity of the waters! A variety of fish will come to you if you have bread and feed it to them! We would have enjoyed it more if we had more time. Alas, but boats have to be back at the port by 5pm when you go on tours around the island.

“Very cool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2011

Even with just snorkeling gear, we were able to see the ship wreck under water. Also, many different type of fish swim around this area so it is interesting to see. Also, there is a beach just a few meters away from the reef where you can relax, have a little nap, or eat your lunch.

“Experience history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2011

We snorkeled with around 20-25 other people around the wrecks, the view once you bob your head underwater is amazing. You'll get to see the deck of the WWII old sunken Japanese army ship. But I think I'll appreciate it more if I didn't have a few people bump on my head once in a while. It's a lil crowded.

“Rain did not reduce the joy of snorkelling”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

This reef has a beautiful tiny white sand beach adjacent.

Unfortunately it was teeming for some of the time we were there, so we did not visit the beach. The snorkelling site is however fairly sheltered.

However the snorkelling was wonderful, although the illegal collection of a 150 peso per person fee was not. This practice ought be immediately stopped by the Filipino national or Coron local government, although the claimed 'filing of a case' that we were assured of by Coron tourismm officials is laughable given the slow moving Filipino justice system.

There were hundreds of colourful fish, some of whom ate out of my hand. Had I experienced fine weather, it would have looked even better.

A great experience.
