“To cap a day off”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

It seems like the usual route to go from Mt. Tapyas at sunset then to Maquinit Springs after. The warm water can really relax your bones after hiking up the mountain. It's a little off the beaten path, though, and makes you feel like it takes forever to get there. Plus, the unlit road makes you start thinking of scary movies. But it's well worth the travel to get there. Another thing is the shower room doesn't always work.

“Worth the bumpy trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Take a trike there for Php 300 round trip. Best after trekking Mt. Tapyas for the sunset. Or if you have more time, you can consider going late afternoon if you already did Mt. Tapyas at another day. I'm sure the view will be great. Nothing beats drinking a cold beer while immersing yourself in a hot spring. :-)

“Hot and Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Good for an hour. One main huge pool then two smaller pools filled with piping hot water. Two gentle waterfalls running from the smaller pools into the larger one. I was there during the day but they have lights for the night time along with picnic areas.

“Good place to visit at night--- after the hike from mt. tapyas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Went to the hotspring after the hike at mt. tapyas. the ride to maquinit was dark and bumpy! felt the moss on walls of the spring and on the ledge. They say its 40C, but it was tolerable, you need to dip slowwly and adapt to the temp. It was indeed relaxing but staying too loong might suffocate or make you dizzy. took a dip to less than 30 mins.

“Too hot to not handle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

This is the best place to go to after a long and tiring day. This was our last destination after visiting 7 islands and diving areas. Boy, it's really hot! But nothing you can't handle, you just have to get used to the hot temperature then you're okay. You can literally boil an egg here.

If it's your first time bathing in a hot spring, dip your feet first then slowly all the way up to your neck. A lot of foreigners frequent the area. I was shocked to see them swimming underwater!

Though there's a stinking smell coming from one of the pools. The rocks are too mossy and slippery. Also, the whole hot spring is too rocky. I had to wear slippers.
