“Coron Adventure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

I can honestly say that the service was OK, not really great but we still enjoyed our Coron adventure. since you'll not be around the room everyday because of the daily activities you will be encountering, this one is perfect if you're budget is sort of tight, breakfast and lunch is free exept for dinner, but most likely there's alot of restau and "carenderias" around the town, so there'll be no problem. if ill rate my Coron adventures from 1-10, its 8. I'm inlove with Coron, it is not the hotel or lodging house that I'm really looking for but rather the beauty of nature that struck me after all.

When we arrived at the Pension house, the lady owner gave us 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. The rooms were dirty, the sheets looked like they were not washed and were used by former tenants. One of the rooms we reserved smelled horrible. I was inspecting the drawers and cabinets and the bottom drawer door came off and fell. I complained to the lady owner about it and all she told me was to just put the thing under the bed. At that point, I asked if there are other rooms she can move us to. Which she graciously did. So we went to the third floor. The third floor rooms looked decent and smelled better. But again, there were problems. The rooms appeared they were not done building. The sink in the bathroom did not have a finished drain so they gave us a huge pail to catch the dirty water whenever we use it to wash our hands or brush our teeth. It was really gross. But it's that or the rooms downstairs. Then they didn't have hot water in the shower. Breakfast was included but it was not that much. I guess our consolation was the beautiful islands in Coron.

A bit far from the town proper but the place is ok considering that it's so cheap! The owner is very friendly and even gave us a discount for our last night's stay since we decided to extend. Though a bit lacking on some amenities but good enough for the price you paid.

We booked the room including th tours provided by lodge. Unfortunately, it was so obvious that all the owners (Tianga clan) cared about was money. Once we paid in full, they were now nowhere to be found/cannot be reached. Further, the boat that they provided us for our Day 1 tour was so small that it took us so long to be out on the sea to arrive at our destinations. The worst experience we had was we almost missed our return flight because no one was around to assist us. If I didn't get angry they won't even bring us to the airport. And when we finally arrived at he airport, check in was already closed as it was near boarding time already and the flight manifest have already been finalized. I just begged and begged for the airline to allow us in.
As for the room, it was spacious but so dark with a tiny tv without cable and the bath was tiny and did not have hot water.
Good thing Coron was so beautiful that our great experience made up for this rip off.

Coron Island is PARADISE!

Lime stone formation, clear blue-green water, green lanscapes, good locals.
We visited Twin Lagoon, Kayangan Lake (prepare to stretch your muscles coz you have to trek up first before seeing the amazing lake), Baracudda Lake (very nice lime stone formation), Malcapuya Beach (very nice white sand and do not forget to climb the hill to have a better view of the island), Siete Picados (snorkles ready and swim with the fishes) and Mt. Tapyas (720++ steps to reach it's peak).

Amor & Boytek Pension House
the room is nice, it has 1 twin bed & 1 doubled deck-bed and can accomodate 6 persons.
it has cabled TV, A/C, toilet (no hot/cold), free use of towels and linens and free breakfast (you can suggest what bfast you would like to have)
3rd & 2nd floors has balcony and you can use their utensils.

Nice view of the hills in the balcony and the place is near the Tapyas Road leading to Mt. Tapyas.

Room Tip: book in advance.. understand & go along with Ms. Amor's mood-swing

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2012

Last Feb. 4-6, 2012 we visit Coron Palawan together with my group. We are 11 in a group and we are treated so well in this pension house, especially Ate Amor and her daughter.

We reserved 6 rooms (5 standard rooms and 1 single room). At first, we are quite unsure of the accommodation choice because of the negative reviews in Amor & Boytek Pension House. However, we give it a try on their service.

Negative reviews are all wrong. We stayed at Amor & Boytek Pension House for 3 days and 2 nights and they have a really good service.

From the airport service to everything.

The rooms are so big, they made us choose between the 2nd floor and 3rd floor since we are getting 6 rooms. We occupied the whole floor. Plus our floor has common-living room which includes television and complete sala set. They also have common C.R. located at the corner side of the floor. And of course they have common kitchen with complete utensils and water dispenser for our convenient stay.

The people around this pension house are all good and accommodating. Just request your needs and they'll do their part. And one thing that amazed us is the talking bird "loro" not sure about the type of bird that will greet you every time you enter the house.

Our stayed for 3days 2 nights is really worth it. It feels like home. Also to mention the sumptuous FREE breakfast every morning. The only "hassle thing" is the "low-energy-supply" but of course we understand since Palawan is a Rural Area and we need to save energy.

Above all, our stay in this hotel is great!

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PENSION HOUSE/ACCOMMODATION TO ALL YOU TRAVELERS.

We will surely go back to Coron and get their service again.

Ate amor and family, thank you so much for your wonderful service!

-Heizelle and Karl's group.

Room Tip: Request for your breakfast meal, especially if you are in a group. ;)

Last August 03 , 2011, me with my 7 companions booked and stayed at Amor pension house for 4 straight nights,Nice ,cozy and affordable accommodation for a real traveler like me, but we particularly enjoyed the island tour, specially the Tasty sea foods and unlimited rice courtesy of particular " Nanay Bath " with her son Bong. " a True real value for your money". Coron is a truly a magnificent place to visit, for sure we will return next year for more...The only thing i regret is that i lost my phone 35 feet under water...huhuhu... souvenir for the corals.
