“Best choice in town for sleeping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2010

Stay here in that city when arrive by bus/train from Bangkok and go on to Cambodia. Conveniently located in between all travel options. We choose the superior rooms to have best quality as the other rooms are dark and dusty.
Service in the restaurant is really worse, they don’t care about customers, bring not ordered food or eat by themselves and forget about service.
Swimming pool is nice and can be refreshing.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2010

we'd stayed here three months before, when all the 'new' section was booked out. This time we had a room in the 'new' section, 500 baht per night.
We were in the downstairs level, room sheltered from sun by trees and some well-stocked fishponds run the length of these units. Room was clean/tidy, basic facilities cable tv, small fridge.
Was nice to be remembered/greeted by reception and cafe staff even though it was 3mths since our last visit.

First - be realistic - we paid 400 baht (UK 4 pounds) per night to stay here - huge room, air-con, 70-channel cable tv, big swimming pool, decent restaurant, friendly staff. Most people travel thru Aranyaprathet to/from the border with Cambodia 6kms away, it's a big market/transit town. We booked for 2 days but extended to 4. There are new, more expensive rooms but we were OK with the 400 baht option, looking a bit tired but bed linen towels etc were clean, fresh towels each day.
We had several meals at the restaurant - 50-100 baht for Thai food though they also offer western-style. Very fast broadband internet from 2 pcs in restaurant area at 30 baht/hour.
Pool is about 12m long, good depth 1.4 up to 1.7m at deep end, though some tiles need replacing there are a few sharp edges to be careful of.
Easy walking distance to centre of town, night markets and temple. You'll need ransport to visit the Khmer temples/ruins as the best are 12km south (Prasart Khao Noi) and 45km north (Prasart Sadok Kok Thom) both well worth the journey if you are interested.
Overall - great value at the price and we will stay there again; there are plenty of hotels/motels to choose from in the area esp on main road to the border.
