“Relax in luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We have just returned from a three day stay in May 2013. We were looking for somewhere to unwind on our return south from a four day exhibition in Glasgow, and this certainly fitted the bill. We stayed in Tomatin Lodge. We arrived late, and the hosts had thoughtfully provided food to see us through till the next day.
The lodge is spacious and luxurious, with very efficient underfloor heating. Lots of nice little touches which really finish it off, like a selection of movies for the DVD, towelling robes and basket of fresh fruit. The quality of the crockery and glasses is amazing for a rented property. Above all, having a sauna and a jacuzzi make this a perfect place to relax.
Although we just expected to spend a few days relaxing, we were surprised by how much there is to do locally. Berwick and Kelso were lovely towns, and we had wonderful days out at Paxton House and Floors Castle.
Finally, a mention for the hosts, Richard and Debra. They are lovely and really try to care of you, but in an unobtrusive way. All in all, first class.

The lodge was just amazing, had a great long weekend for the other half's birthday and couldn't have picked a better place to go! Such a pleasant place to be and relax with the hot tub and sauna we almost didn't want to leave the grounds of the cabin.

However if you can drag yourself away from the relaxation of the cabin there's plenty to see and do round about!

We have just returned from four fabulous days at the Tomatin lodge. What a place, spacious, luxurious and wonderfully cosy in a cold and snowy British Spring. With two small children who spent many happy hours in the hot tub it was a chilled out break for all the family.
The attention to detail and little personal touches provided by Richard and Debra were second to none and it fully deserves its 5* status. A little Northumberland gem we will be visiting again I am sure.

Just returned from 3 really freezing days in late March exploring some lovely parts of Northumberland. We were disappointed not to be able to enjoy the great beaches at close quarters due to the weather. It could have been a bit miserable except that each day we returned to such a warm and luxurious lodge. Everything was spacious, high quality and immaculately clean. Debra quickly arrived after us and was very kind and helpful. We braved several trips across the huge deck in our robes to sit in the hot tub with the snow blowing around us. Although the lodge was perfect in awful weather, we kept thinking how lovely all that outdoor space would be if we ever get some good weather in this country! Highly recommended.

Me and my girlfriend have just returned home after spending a week in the tomatin lodge.

All I can say is this place deserves it's 5 star rating, if I could give it 6 I would. It was exactly what we were after, romantic, cosy quiet place away from the hustle and bustle.

It is only a few miles off the A1 near Berwick and easy enough to find. On arriving at the site we found out cabin, (only 3 on site) and were pleasantly surprised to find milk, chocolates, fresh flowers and all the creature comforts you would need for a week away. It had really nice touches throughout our cabin like expensive furniture, denby crockery, crystal glasses, disposable BBQ the list was endless. Every little thing had been thought through.

The hit tub was huge for just the two of us, sauna was good too. At night we sat under the stars sipping champagne and you couldn't hear a thing which was amazing.

The cabins are huge, warm and cosy with underfloor heating throughout, we hardly left the place all week. It was hard leaving this afternoon and we wish we could have stayed another week!

Debra and Richard were great hosts, made us feel very welcome and relaxed, they even fetched us more DVDs when we had watched all of the ones in the cabin. I would recommend this to all of my family and friends and once were on our RnR from Afghanistan we will be booking again!!!

Overall amazing holiday :-)

Karl and Jacqui.

Just come back from a weekend in Strathisla lodge, what a fantastic way to spend our anniversary weekend! As soon as you walk in the cottage, the first thing you say is "wow" - the place is breathtaking, and the small touches like chocs on the dressing table, fresh milk in the fridge, and the hot tub steaming and ready to use make it feel the more personable! Debra and Richard are very welcoming and approachable, and meet you on arrival to show you how to use all the facilities! Towels, dressing gowns, toiletries and a fully stocked kitchen are ready to use. Main piece of advice is to aim to arrive in the day time, as we had a tricky time finding the right turn off in the dark on the B6461. We're already planning our next trip back though! This place is rated 5* quite rightly!

Hi there
just to say, thank you very much for your comments in the visitors book and Trip advisor.
We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
The temporary entrance is a bit tricky in the dark and hopefully we will have made a start on the new reception and driveway on your next visit.
