“Excellent day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

Only just re opened and much work has obviously been done. Large car park even for mobile homes. The tea shop has also had a refurbishment. Very nice coffee and slice of cake. We took the steam train ride which is well worth the £4, cheery staff even on the coldest day of the year. The gardens are staggeringly beautiful even though only a few Magnolias and Rhododendrons are flowering at the moment and the daffodil meadow is only just starting to show some colour. The trees are well worth going to see loads of rare varieties and old specimens. We took the buggy ride around the garden with Jack who was charming and funny. There were so few visitors today that we had the buggy all to ourselves. The garden, train and buggy are all dog friendly. The public toilets were very clean. I really want to come back again later in the year, mug be one of the top gardens to visit.

“Does what it says”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Great views of the river and Solent, good for picnics, and the steam railway is a bonus for kids! Lovely gardens and well kept, the shop was good for plants but some other goodies a bit oddly chosen!

“Fantastic Dog Friendly Day Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We had a brilliant day out at Exbury in the Autumn. The gardens are truly lovely and there are so few places nowadays where you are able to take your dog with you. In fact, if we hadn't been able to take the dog, we probably wouldn't have gone. Not only can you take your dog around the grounds, you can also go on the steam train and we even saw dogs in the Gift Shop. Our dog absolutely loved the train (as did the 4 other dogs that were on the train at the same time). We didn't try the food in restaurant, but the cakes looked amazing so will definitely be on the agenda for the next visit. Highly recommended - we will be returning in the Spring.

“Problem resolved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

I posted a review in September 2012 to explain about the poor customer service we recieved when no train arrived. The marketing manager contacted us quickly and provided a full refund and tickets for a return visit. I am very happy with this outcome and would like to thank the management at Exbury.

“Oasis of colour and calm (usually)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

As I live not far from Exbury I try and visit at least annually If not 2-3 times per year. If you are looking for a well maintained, often colourful, peaceful, safe* walk then Exbury is worth considering. Not cheap but then maintaining this place costs upwards of 1/2 a million per year but yoiu do get what you pay for. Favourite times are late spring for the rhododendrons, a walm balmy day for a picnic and autumn for the stunning Acers.

*You often need to keep an eye our for the golf buggies that silently creep but behind you but it does make it more accessible to even the old, fat, infrim and lazy (personal bugbare)

There's a nice cafe, plant shop, large scale railway and frequent art exhibition on site.
