“First class country park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

We were on holiday in the New Forest and decided to pay a visit to this lovely country park. It's in a beautiful setting on the edge of The Solent, overlooking the Isle of Wight. There's plenty of room for the kids to play, lots of car parking spaces, picnic areas and some nice walks. The beach is stony, not sandy, but OK for padding.

“Taking the children for picnic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Arrived mid morning with car, and chose an appropriate parking place on the upper level - you can park nearer the beach which is on the same level as the café, ice cream kiosk, information office and clean toilets with hot water. It costs £5 for an all day parking ticket which covers both levels. We always go for the upper level because it is near the children's play area, and convenient for picnics by you car - it is grassland. and plenty of space for windbreaks and picnic chairs. There are some good walks around the Country Park, well signposted. You can also walk to look at the "D-Day Landings".
Dogs can be taken anywhere in the park on a lead, but in certain areas they are allowed off their leads.
The Park is very clean, with plenty of litter bins.
The beach is mainly of pebbles and swimming at low tide is not recommended because of the sea-weed and mud, but at high tide is fine - but be extremely careful of the strong currents. At low tide there is a "Spit" exposed which is fun to walk on - again be careful of the tide coming in. There are good views across the Solent. There is evidence of erosion of beach side paths after the Winter,
When we arrived, there were about 400 cars but the Park did not appear crowded.

Overall a great day out.

Came to lepe country park for a walk with the dog. It is set on the beach and has wonderful views of the Isle of Wight. Lots of history along the pathway. Would recommend. Has toilets and a cafe so plenty of amenities.

“something for every one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

My Husband and I spent a few hours here this morning as we were looking for somewhere different to go while on holiday from work,
What a lovely relaxing place.
Lovely walks to go on, or just sitting watching the boats on the sea.
A paddle in the water and just taking in the peace and quiet of the place.
Could have stayed longer and certainly will next time we go.
If you go with children the park is brilliant, I know are grandchildren would love it.
Also a very nice beach café and prices very reasonable.
