“Weekend getaway from city life.. A lil above average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

The place is superb if you want to quick getaway for a weekend from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities but it lacks finesse and class. I loved their set up for the evening snacks in the gardens where the golf cart takes you around the banana plantations. The landscaping of the resort is very good. Though it was good rejuvenating trip it lacked completeness.
The ACs in the rooms need overhauling. For one night i stayed at Bouganvilla 3 where the AC was dripping water in the room and one full corner was drenched with it. Then i shifted to Maharaja room(MOGRA 2) where the AC's wire short sparked burning the bathroom wall and the entire room was filled with smell. The electrician came and was unable to figure out first but after 1.5 hours of staying without AC it was repaired. All this happened at 3.30pm afternoon when the sun was blazing in full glory. Please pull up socks on maintenence.
All the service was reactive rather than proactive.
In the final bill i was charged for a mineral water bottle which was not consumed by me. Since the amount was small i did not argue with the reception guy.

PROS:
1. Fabulous food only if u are veggie
2. Rustic set up and location
3. Nice view from Maharaja room
4. Staff fairly effecient if told to do a task
5. Isolation is to the fullest. Our room facing the lake had complete privacy
6. Therapist at the spa is excellent

CONS:
1. The directions to reach this place is horrible on the website. Please make a map and post it online. Will make life a lot simpler
2. Rooms were not clean enough. Bed linen was torn with holes. Cutlery was always stained and not really clean.
3. Bathroom was sub-standard and not clean. The toiletries looked cheap. It is not what u expect in a room where u pay as much as Rs. 7700 + 18% Taxes
4. The noise in the evening called music program arranged by the resort is not required. They spoil the calm and peace of the place.

All in all, a little bit of tweaking and attention to finer details and service can make this into a great property to visit. But they have miles to go !!

Room Tip: Go for the Maharaja room away from the reception area. Less noise and more serene. Do not settle for...

Far from Pune city, the resort is one of the best weekend getaway options. The drive to the resort is amazing especially in monsoons. Maharaja cottages offer the best views of the lakeside. Rooms are pretty big with good facilities. pool area is small but good. Restaurant is good but the food especially the vegetarian fare is ok. overall the property is well maintained. There is an organic garden on the top, and the restaurant uses the same veggies for food. There is a small recreational room with basic facilities like TT, Carrom.
The resort is a perfect place to relax for a weekend for the break from the city life.

This has one of the best locations I have seen from a Hotel Room... Towards the Valley Facing Rooms, you can see a big lake and Mountains surrounding. Its normally quiet out there, pretty far being from the city being the reason. The food is good too but if you are Strictly a Veggie, you wouldn't want to be at this place. The rooms are spacious and nice..

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Valley..

Stayed here for just 1 day on a weekend, based primarily on the positive reviews and the location. I must say that the place definitely lived up to its reputation of being a great weekend getaway. The tree cover and the mountains in the background provide a very rustic feel and everything is maintained to provide this same feel (including the doorbell and the speakers on the ground). We stayed at the bougainvilla cottage and had a nice flowery view from our balcony; the room was fairly large and had all the basic amenities required. The food was adequate, nothing fancy but good.
This is a great place to relax and to just get away from the crowds and laze around.

My husband and me wanted to spend time with each other and relax and this was the perfect choice. Location was awesome, its just about an hours drive away from Pune. Resort is beautiful and well-equipped. Service is great, staff is friendly and helpful. Food is good, lots of variety, which caters to everyones taste and liking. Room was well decorated too and well-equipped with a breath-taking view of Mulshi lake. The view early morning with clouds set over the lake was amazing as was the beautiful hues of the sunset. Plus, there were a lot of activities likes bird watching - we actually saw a paradise fly catcher male right outside the dining area !! - banana and black plum plantations, which you can take a walk through, bullock cart ride, emu farm (which is unfortunately quite small) and strawberry picking (which we couldnt do). They also have a lot of games like pool, carrom, tt and foosball table. There's a swimming pool too! Overall, it was an awesome experience and we had our much-awaited together and relaxing time :) Its a must-visit for couples as well as families.

Room Tip: Bougainvillea 3 has an awesome view of the lake, choose any such room with a view of the lake.
