Owner description: The Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre is located on the A470 just up from Libanus Village. We offer fantastic views of the Beacons range and an opportunity to take a short stroll or a longer hill walk direct from the centre. There will also an information centre, exhibition, gift shop and fabulous tea rooms offering homemade food and cakes. With an outdoor play area, wildlife garden and trail for the children, you could spend the day with us! Come and visit, you will not be dissapointed.

“Good starting point”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

The Visitor Cetre has some useful interpretation about the area, a large cafe and a well-stocked shop to help visitors get to know the area. Let down, however, by the need for some ongoing maintenance and unwelcoming, smelly toilets - there really is no excuse for this - they fall short of facilities offered at other similar sites, including the immaculate facilities at nearby Forestry Commission sites. Goood value parking, but I'd prefer to pay more for better quality facilities. Good walking opportunities.

“Good food and friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

We stopped at the visitors centre purely for lunch. It was raining hard and visibility was very poor, so we could not see any of the views.

The cafe was serving a selection of meals, and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, it looked and tasted home made. We both had a hot cooked lunch, and could not find fault with any of it, the tastes were balanced and the quantity good.

A small but important good point, I bought a cappuccino with my meal, and even after eating my meal, the coffee was still hot and enjoyable to drink.

I can recommend the cafe from my experience, and agree with the other reviewers that it is friendly and worth a visit.

“Lovely area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

Coach loads of OAP's go for lunch here so the cooked food must be good and reasonably priced. We had tea and cakes excellent quality and very reasonable. Nice seating areas inside and out. Upstairs in the shop the staff were extremely helpful with walking suggestions and providing cheap maps of the park. Some lovely walks with great views -we were lucky the sun shone all day. Well worth a visit.

“Brecon Beacons National Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

What an absolute delight! First proper visit to this stunning area, but the scenery is amazing. May is a beautiful time to visit as all is green and fresh. Lovely little towns nestling in the hills and the Monmouth - Brecon Canal tow path is ideal for walking or gentle cycling, whilst there are the higher tracks for the more ambitious. Plenty of pubs, inns & tea rooms for refreshments.
