“Now the Walmart of Beaches”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

I found Shoal Bay to be too commercialized. If you want a beach where there are plenty of food options and services then Shoal is for you. For me, I feel like it lacks that untouched beauty that you find in so many other beaches in Anguilla. Personally, I would avoid it.

“stunning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

Having visited many beaches throughout the Caribbean, this one tops the list of the beaches we have frequented. Powder white sand stretching as far as the eye can see. Crystal clear water and light breezes. True paradise.

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

I feel the need to review the beach at Shoal Bay East because it was fabulous!! I'm just not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said a hundred times before in these reviews. We only visited Anguilla and SBE beach on a day trip from St Martin. The beach, and our whole experience in Anguilla was spectacular. Everyone was incredibly friendly. When on the beach, stop for lunch at Hank's. You won't be disappointed.

“Quiet, relaxing beach on a great island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

Highly recommend Serenity Cottages on Shoal Bay. Great accommodations, excellent staff, great restaurant with a very quiet beach. We vacationed in Anguilla for 8 consecutive years and were never bored or disappointed. The island does not have abject poverty and the Anguillans are very personable and friendly. Restaurants owned by locals are exceptional; i.e., Tasty's, Zara's, The Overlook, Gwen's Beach Bar (rasta past salad), & of course Uncle Ernie's. Also, check out Au Bon Pain for fresh, hot croissants. They had a few tables to eat in or take some back to the room.

The scuba diving is ok and Shoal Bay Dive Shop is right on the beach. Say Hi to Matthew for me.
