“Tecu financial planning lunch time conference”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

Usually good service but coffee was not ready and when I politely pointed out to hotel serving attendant I was ignored at first and when I tried again the response was very sullen as the attendant proceeded to check and started pouring hot water over the coffee grounds. The attendant seemed annoyed that we pointed it out.

My wife and I did another stay-cation to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary, and returned to Cara Suites, Pointe-A-Pierre, with great expectations in mind. They were met! The hotel was upgraded again! - Dining-room makeover, new executive wing updates (see photo) and as usual, warm and practical customer service. I just had to take a photo of the sunset view while lying on the bed in our room (see photo). The bed was quite comfortable, per norm.

Because of its interesting mix of industry, beach front and rustic outdoor, coupled with consistently good customer service, I recommend this hotel for stay-cations and retreats.

Good value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new executive wing on the third floor.

On the whim my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to another stay-cation at Cara Suites Hotel…

Our stay at Cara Suites served two (2) purposes – to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary and for my continued recuperation from the loss of three (3) family members within the last 11 months.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff and served a quenching welcome drink.

Our weekend stay was a very relaxing one, our room was elegantly decorated (gorgeous wall art), the meals were excellent and the restaurant staff warn and friendly. In addition, we were given a tour of the hotel’s new wing (see attached pics) – very classy. Since our last visit the hotel refurbished the restaurant, with sophisticated wall art and a spruced up paint colour which made the room feel light and airy.

All-in-all our stay was worth it as Cara yet again served up a good dose of TLC.

Thank you Avanelle, Mr. Townsend and Mr. Thom

Room Tip: - Any room on the top floor - 5001 to 5004. Plus the new wing level 3 ocean view rooms.

My wife and i spent a week in this hotel for a wedding. The hotel was good and clean. Our room was in the newly renovated area. There is a mini bar in the room but things are a little expensive. The hotel offers free hot breakfast and free WiFi but not in your room. They only offer free wiFi in the lobby area. Our room had a view of the bay and there are old ship wrecks in the water. The staff at the hotel were definitely very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel is far from everything, thank god my wife had family in the area and we were able to get around. I would say this hotel is more suitable for the business person traveling to Trinidad and needs to be in this area.

I am a Trinidadian Canadian from Vancouver, Canada that lived in T&T as a child and was back in paradise for a wedding. I travel regularly to Mexico and the Caribbean but this was my first stay at Cara Suites. The location was conveniently central to many of the family and wedding functions. The hotel has a classic vibe and a great location up on the bluff and was the old Farrell House which my father was very fond of as a youngster. The hotel layout is awesome with an open layout and bay view bar overlooking every sunset. They even have a vintage grand piano in the foyer near the bar for jamming. The room was nice and the king bed provided a solid sleep. The immaculate service is the best element of all, from Hassel Thom, the General Manager who took care of all my needs and requests, to Derrick the assistant manager who helped with any inquiries and baggage repairs, to the whole front staff who were very friendly and social. The bartenders were the superstars of the hotel, especially Sean The Mixologist who went out of his way to create a unique banana drink for my wife and served myself new drinks that I have never seen before. Overall, it was a great stay and a wonderful experience at Cara Suites, and I would recommend the hotel for business or pleasure or both!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor that faces the Gulf of Paria.

The hotel is in a good location and caters well to both the vacation and business markets. What makes the Cara experience memorable is its attention to customer service. Good hospitality goes a long way in everyday life; but it definitely helps to receive genuinely courteous service after long travels or a hard day at the office. I recommend this facility, over many others in the country, when it comes to hospitality and value for money. Well worth it. Cheers!

Jerome. A. Lynch- Trinidad and Tobago

Room Tip: Nice ocean view. The higher up the better.
