“Excellent in almost every way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

The Spa was great. The hotel was very well appointed, very clean, well maintained, great food, very romantic - just about perfect. Since we were traveling through on business, faster wifi available in the rooms would have been nice, but that's a nit. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Take the free hourly shuttle to the older spa used by the Romans as well as this hotel - a very uniq...

We stayed in Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi on a recommendation and were really impressed. We had a junior suite with a stunning view overlooking the valley.

The spa services were incredible, and really what this place is all about. The view from some of the tubs is absolutely unforgettable, and being able to go from spa to sauna to spa for hours on end was just so luxurious.

The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I have had. They had a whole section of gluten-free food which was very considerate. There was even a cheese cart that I only spotted on the way out!

The dining room is elegant, the waiters were top-class, and the prices extremely reasonable. The food was not entirely memorable, but pretty good nonetheless (and actually quite a good selection for vegetarians). If anything, the bread and surprise courses (pre-dessert!) were the highlights of the meal.

My only criticisms are that the wifi was extremely slow (though this helped keep my mind off work!), and the room wasn't quite as plush as other five star hotels we have stayed in. But the rest of the experience more than made up for it.

I spent my 51st birthday here in a jr Suite for €220 euro a night....INSANE VALUE as entrances to the spa for two days would have been €130 alone...this included a room with two bathrooms, both with tubs that had a direct feed of the mineral water gurgling under the Hotel and Spa on the side of a mountain perched above the delightful town of Bormio Italy....oh by the way, one if the tubs was a Jacuzzi and the other was a monolithic hunk of marble...
I have stayed at this hotel 6 times....the improvements each year Mr Rocchi makes is unreal...converting the useless tennis court into a seimming pool for actual swimming, something people that run spas forget guests MAY want to actually do, WITH the cutest little log house with suspended swing chairs in front of a roaring fire....WITH a finnish spa with art posters decorating the inside...YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A SPA better than this...I know because I have stayed in OVER 5,000 hotels-for free!
It was a pleasure to NOT be overly pampered and allowed to wander around as if I was in the Roman Army 2,000 years ago amongst the disneylandish 29+ spa affects accompanied by new age music and solid granite and marble everywhere...you spent your winters licking your wounds waiting for the campaigns to start in the Spring...This a spa fit for Marius, Julius Ceasares'Uncle...and the greatest Roman General and far and away richest...Exactly why I come here...
Superb Restaurant! If you are not aware Italian wine varities number over 2,000+ plus, unlike the 16 or so found in your countries...I am from California...Try a bottle of 2001 Nino Negri 5 stelle and tell me why you pay $2000 for Screaming Eagle Cab, or $1200 for Australian Grange or €2,000 for PETRUS....even my WAITER was a Sommelier...
Please overlook the strength of my comments as it seems impossible that there is in the world such a place as this, with clueless people giving it a very good or below....THIS PLACE ROCKS!

This is great experience for a North American. Visiting the indoor and outside roman baths is unique and relaxing.
Quite far from Milan: google maps suggested passing thru the Stelvio pass, which is closed 9 months of the year because of snow.

Room Tip: most rooms are tired but clean questionable 5 star (possible a 4 star+)

We went there to relax for 3 days, and the hotel i really great. We had upgraded to a room with a terrace, a huge bathroom with jacuzzi, and all was just great from the first minute we arrived. We also had wonderful meals for breakfast, snacks in the spa and we tried both restaurants.

The Spa must be one of the best in the world, as there are so many things to do, and a wide mix of treatments. The quietness of the hotel, and the great nature and view will make us come back here when we want to relax.

Room Tip: Get a room with a terrace.

I have been traveling for a long time and stayed in many hotels but this, was definitely one of my favorites. We stayed here in October so the weather was perfect, clear blue skies with some light snow fall; which made our view ..breathtaking! Our room was really beautiful, large and clean with a huge balcony overlooking the Italian Alps. On top of that, there is over 30 free wellness services, including outdoor baths, hot tubs, saunas, mud baths, massage centers, relaxation rooms, and Turkish baths. All of them are completely Free! This is a five star hotel, so of course, every service was immaculately presented and all the facilities are really well maintained. My personal favourites, were all the free products available for use after the spas; high quality skin care products.
I am definitely coming back!

Room Tip: room 114 is one of the special ones with the large balcony! ;)

Delicious breakfast. Beautiful location in the alps. Unique, authentic spa experience - the range of baths/terme is outstanding. Excellent attention to detail and thoughtful touches through out hotel and spa. On the down side, hotel staff can be hit and miss.
