“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

This is a fasinating place and the staff are friendly. It is small but well worth a visit. The national trust should support more interactive and inspiring attractions like this.

“Relaxing couple of hours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

Interesting and interactive for thr children with a lovely tea room and garden. Even if just for a cup of tea we'll definitely be back. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit especially if you have National Trust membership.

“Interesting place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012 via mobile

Only a small place but really interesting if you enjoy learning about the human side of our industrial past.
The demonstrations are great and give a real insight to the working conditions, truly inspiring.
Lovely grounds and a lovely little village. Well worth a couple of hours.

“Great content for a small looking attraction.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

This is a small National Trust property and initially when we visited we thought that it would be a quick visit. How wrong we were. This is a water powered forge, and the practical demonstration given by a member of staff on how the forge works together with a talk about the tools used and tools made was extremely interesting. There was also a nice garden to relax in along with a small but functional tea room. Couple this with the picturesque village of Sticklepath and you have a full morning or afternoon's worth of entertainment.
