5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011

Fantastic resort for families with kids! We stayed there for two consecutive summers and we are definitely going back next year! Quiet place, beautifully landscaped and the buffet dinner selection in the restaurant is absolutely amazing! Car is a must, however, the resort is only 5 minutes away from the beach in Miami Plaja! Staff is great and always helpful!Great value for money!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2010

Stay here in April 2010, during the volcanic eruption. The staff were very helpful and just let us stay on as long as we needed to. The resort was lovely, beautifully set in gardens, with great views to the mountains and the sea. The pools are great fun and the kids pool is very well heated and steams in the evening! The restaurant was a little expensive, although the staff were great and you do need a car to explore. The area is very unspoilt and residential. Cambrils is about 15 minutes drive and is a lovely little coastal town. Miami Playa a little less so. Don't expect to hear or be spoken to in english, so practice your french and spanish. Port aventura was a good day out but was 125 euros for 3 of us, so make the most of it. If you like hot chocolate try the Spiritual cafe in Cambrils, you will not have tasted better. I would really recommend this area and resort for an unspolied spanish break in a very nice clean and well kept resort.

Great location for a quiet holiday. Set up towards the mountains 4 miles from the coast with great views in all directions. All apartments have a balcony with a great view in all directions. We went in Septmember and it was very quiet which was great. The pool was fun and clean. The restaurant and bar were staffed well and the standard of food was very good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Car is essential to visit the coast and is around 10-15 minute drive to the nearest beach which are sandy and big!!!. Some evenings we used the local taxi service to the bars/restaurants at the beach which was around 15 euros each way. (meant no one had to drive!!)

Bonmont is ideal for couples and families looking for a quiet resort but with lots to do nearby (Tarragona, Reus & Barcelona etc).

If you're British visitors to Catalunya, don't expect to hear much English (or Spanish for that matter) spoken here. When we stayed here recently, the clientele was almost exclusively French. Mostly families who had driven in their MPVs from over the border. The location is a bit remote, about 4-5 miles from the coast - so a car is essential if you want to see some of the surrounding area. Although the apartment we had was designated as one suitable for 5 people, in reality 3 of the 5 sleeping berths were temporary beds converted from settees in the living area. The apartment could have done with a bit of TLC in the off season as we found many of the furnishings were rather "dog-eared". Also, some of the kitchen facilities left a bit to be desired - our kettle was falling apart and there was no grill (only a hob and microwave).
On the plus side, the pool facilities were very good and there was always a lounger or two free in the poolside area. There wasn't much in the form of evening entertainment - a very tame mini-disco and the occasional show from external acts. If you want something livelier at night-time, then a car journey to nearby Cambrils is required. If you don't want to use the self catering facilities then there is a restaurant available. Evening meals were overpriced (70+ euros for a 2+2 family) and the usual help-yourself buffet fayre. We used the restaurant a lot more for lunch, which far more reasonably priced (30 - 40 Euros incl drinks). We liked L'Ametlla and Cambrlis, but found Miami Playa a bit nondescript, though useful for its supermarkets located on the main C340 road. Don't expect clean crystal blue waters on the coast though, the sea was full of debris - some of it of very dubious origin.

Dear cyrydwr,

Many thanks for your comments from your stay at Pierre & Vacances-Bonavista Bonmont in July 2009 - we are particularly pleased to hear that you and your family enjoyed the pool facilities at the property.

We are sorry however that you were disappointed by the quality of the kitchen facilities in the apartment and apologise that the furnishings were not up to standard. In addition to ensuring that all rooms are spotlessly clean for new guests, it is our policy to check that all facilities work correctly and are of a good standard. We have therefore forwarded your comments on to the management at Pierre & Vacances-Bonavista Bonmont to make them aware of the situation.

Regarding the size of the apartment, we take great care to specify the size of each apartment and how each guest will be accommodated. We do provide full details of bed allocation and room size in metres squared for all of our apartments, both on the website and in our brochures. We hope therefore that the sleeping arrangements in your apartment did not cause you any inconvenience at all.

We really appreciate your comments from your stay with us and hope that you will holiday with PV-Holidays again in the future.

Best wishes,

Very modern, and clean apartments. Own garden area with ground floor apartments. Restaurant's themed nights were excellent. Lovely view from resort, Cambrils, the local town bit tacky but lovely beach. Port Aventura is a must but get there early in the day to get parking. Staff helpful, Easy to get to from Barcelona Airport by hire car, reasonably easy to find. Pool not heated and freeform shape. Lovely setting, would go back. We went to Barcelona by train from Reus. Good for sightseeing and shopping but not recommended for small children, too hot and too busy. Dress code for golf course, smart clothing essential or you cannot get in! You need a car to get to beach.

  • Liked — Modern and clean.

Stayed here for a week, ( a 200E special in Oct) spotless apartments, great amenities & excellent staff. Great place if you want a bit of peace & quiet, although you need a car, as it's a little off the beaten track.

  • Liked — Amenities & Value for Money
  • Disliked — Very Minor Gripes-No lift to upper floors & could do with WI-FI
