“Charming hotel :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

Me and my friend stayed in this hotel in june for a 3 night break and it was really nice. We are early 30's.
Its on a grand scale and very charming. We had one of the 'unfurnished rooms' and it was lovely. If you go around trying to pick holes in things im sure you'd be dissapointed but to us it was just wonderful!
Breakfast is amazing and so much to choose from, a little walk from puerto banus (under the subway which i wouldnt use at night) but a lovely stroll tea time for a few beers to watch the sun set and window shop ~ and only €6 in a cab back.... Perfect.
Free wifi - can be a bit cranky but i could check emails by the pool if i wanted to. Nice helpful staff and fabulous grounds with a nice pool and tree lined area at the back for shade.

The only thing id change are the girls there who think they have just walked off of a towie set and think they are better than everyone else. Its a bit snotty, materialistic and un-nessesary. The hotel though is lush, new room or old, its def one id rush back to! Have a great holiday :-)

My fiance and i stayed here in late April. We both really liked the hotel, especially the breakfast. We were upgraded to a suite so had a 2 balconies, a bedroom, bathroom and living room, lovely size and was kept clean. As mentioned the breakfast was really tasty and a huge amount of choice to keep all happy. The pool was nice, not too busy either. Staff at reception were helpful, arranging a trip to Gibralter (do not recommend that though) and a visit to the Old Quarter in Marbella. The breakfast staff nice too, especially an older man who brought us coffee. You are around ten mins walk to the Port via an underpass and close to the beach too. I would recommend booking a newer style room with breakfast.

Room Tip: New rooms.

After reading a few other comments i wasnt to sure what to expect from this hotel but on arrival i was so pleased. Hotel was brilliant. Me & my boyfriend are 24 & 29 and yeah there was a few groups of stags and hens but none of them bothered us atall. When people say stags and hen dos i think of magaluf and ibiza but this is nothing like this. So much more classy and everyone seems to have a lot more respect in marbella. Pool area was fab and we always managed to get a sunbed. No need to wake up early and put a towel down. Subway was great for getting across to Puerto Banus centre. Hotel is fab location. Food was good, we went half board but mainly just had breakfast as we liked going out to all the fab resturants for dinner. Great choice at both breakfast and dinner, fresh bread, fruit and also the chefs cooked you omelettes, pancakes, stir frys, pasta etc. We booked through Thomson and got a double room looking onto the pool. This was refurbished so i cant comment on the rooms that havent been refurbished but when booking with thomson we were advised they only supplied the refurbished rooms. Cleaning lady was great, room was always spotless. Bathroom was nice and shower was great (usually hotel showers can be pretty rubbish) Would defo recommend this hotel. Puerto Banus was amazing, glamorous and defo a must see place. We shall be booking again for next year but for 2 weeks! Dont let other reviews put you of trying this hotel as i was really worried after reading some of them. Im a very fussy person and this hotel did meet my high standards which isnt always the case when i go abroad. Hope this review helped :) xxx

Room Tip: Book with Thomson or request a refurbished room

We have just returned from a week at th Andalusia plaza... We had a superior suite, which was beautifully fitted, huge bed great sitting area, gorgeous bathroom, 2 balconies !!! Great Space, location for us was perfect just a few minutes stroll through the underpass and in to the hustle and bustle !! (the underpass could do with some tlc .. Needs painting/ cleaning) breakfast was great, and all though we were half board we only ate once on an evening at the hotel, but that was also great ! This is a true gem.. One we will return too !!!

This hotel is perfectly located for walking down to Puerto Banus centre and beach in 5-10 minutes. Quiet location and a very nice pool area. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fabulous, make sure you get it included in your hotel price. The rooms were good sized and clean, well kept by the cleaning ladies. The only problem was the internet that kept coming and going.....

Just arrived back from this H 10- what a disappointment. Our room was SO incredibly dated and I was afraid to touch the manky curtains which were faded and old! When we came out of the lift onto our corridor there were really gaudy tiles and while we were happy that there was carpet on the corridors for acoustic purposes it was old, worn and run down. The website shows pictures of the upgraded rooms but don't b fooled by the pictures, the older rooms are below par.

Our experience with staff was mixed. In general they did not look v happy and the team on the breakfast terrace were stretched to keep up. A statement that was regularly used was 'not possible' which is not what you expect from a four star! I'd be expecting something more like 'no problem' This was from the managers to the waiters. There was one excellent girl with curly hair who served at the pool mainly at the doorway into the hotel- she worked incredibly hard.

This hotel is classified 'adult only' This translates into young, loud and occasionally drunken groups who interfered with other guests' comfort and relaxation at the pool. They were served odious amounts of beer which fuelled the situation. Furthermore, the pool area was not all that clean with a lot of litter and empty bottles lying around which left you slightly uneasy in the water.
The route to the port was via an underground tunnel. There are a lot of steps and it is not pretty- I used to hold my breath till the other end.
There is huge room for improvement in this hotel from staff to accommodation-won't b rushing back!!

Dear Guest,

I greatlyl appreciate your feedback about your stay at H10 Andalucia Plaza Hotel.
I have shared your comments with our Maître and Guest Services Manager and we are doing our best to improve these attitudes mentioned about the Restaurant staff.
For your comments, it looks like you booked a standard room which is not still renovated and for this reason, with a much more competitive rate. Our renovated rooms are classified as superior with a different rate.
All roomtypes are shown on our webpage but we will check it in case this is not clear enough.
Following feedbacks like yours we have made some improvements regarding the subway although it does not belong to the hotel.

Once again, thank you for your comments and I hope you reconsider your decision to return to the Hotel as I am sure you would find the facilities and the team to your expectation.

Kindest Regards,

Public Relations Responsible

Stayed for 11 nights in July 2012. The hotel was absolutely fantastic in all respect. Room (superior room) was first class and immaculately attended to by maid. Breakfast offered a huge choice. Had dinner in the hotel once- it was good but there are numerous good restuarants locally- watch out for Gios just across from the Hotel entrance door- good food and good value for money.

5 minute walk to beach, less than 10 minutes to Port- no issue with tunnel- clean and safe although access to the tunnel at the hotel side is slightly difficult to find first time.

Bus to Marbella costs one euro twenty cent each way - bus stop on far side of main road.

Good range and quality entertainment every night inn hotel, drinks are not overly priced.

In summary, would definitely return here- this hotel could easly be FIVE STARS.

I read some reviews on Tripadvisor after I had booked and considered cancelling the booking- glad I didn't

Room Tip: Should ask for/ book refurbished room with pool view (3rd floor or higher), note most but not all ro...
