5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

we were here for one night as we needed to take four seasons explorer from here.
Though it is just one night, everything seems perfect. We love the pool and touching service. One shortback is that we booked the infinity seat in the blu restaurant months ago that we looked forward to it, yet, when we went to blu, someone already took the seat. We are so disappointed, but the manager apologized about double booking and offered a free white wine to us. Actually, if you can read Chinese or want to see photos, you can check my blog for more comments on resort and explorer : http://gary520ivy.pixnet.net/blog/category/list/1300156

Room Tip: we stayed in 226, private. good room

Dear IVY603,

It was so nice to have you stay with us and I hope when your plans bring you back to The Maldives you will be able to stay a little longer next time. My apologies for the issue with the infinity table at Blu but I was glad to hear that the team there made amends for the mistake; we will make sure to give you a great dining experience on your next visit.

With best wishes,

We stayed in FSLG in January for 6 nights and it was the best 6 nights in my life, it was my wife's birthday as well as our 3rd anniversary.
The service is outstanding and really hard to beat!! They welcome you (with your name) even before you land your first step in the island, so it's very personal and attentive. They all know us and know which room we're staying in. The room was amazing and we stayed in room 417, in-water villa, amazing view and nice bike ride around the island. The beach was out of this world and the trips we had (maldives cruise, turtle safari, sunset fishing) were awesome. The only negative thing I can find about this place is the food. The breakfast was nice, not fancy but good, the BLU restaurant is the worst, bad food and really slow service, we stay there for the amazing location and the friendly staff, otherwise I don't recommend it. The lobster night was expensive and the food was regular and average. What I liked is the theme nights (Bollywood dreams, Sultan's mezza night) the best meal we had was when we went sunset fishing and they grilled our catch, so fresh and yummy.
I'd definitely go again and visit it once more time.
Good job FSLG

What a great vacation, great sailing, beautiful beach, BEAUTIFUL EVERYTHING. The sea is completely blue and beautiful. I totally recommend this place. You can go knee boarding, tubing, waterskiing and you have a bunch of choices for a banana boat. There are kayaks and you can go snorkeling and see the beautiful fish. It's a great place to go with your kids since they have a kids club!

Great locations in far away places tend to have big reputations and set high expectations for the traveller. This resort exceeds all expectations. From the Sea plane adventure over the beautiful atolls to our arrival at Landaa and the warm welcome, the perfect level of attention without being too fussy and intrusive. The staff are from all over the world and delightful.
At 104 Villas the resort never feels too full. Villas are simply and elegantly decorated. Yes it is expensive but worth every penny. We stayed for 5 nights and could have easily handled another 2 or 3. The Maldives have the best clearest waters I've seen. I typically do 180 hotel nights per year at 5 star hotels all over Asia, this is my new service standard. We'll be back..

Room Tip: Water Villas are magical, Beach Villas tend to be bigger and some have private pools

We spent 5 nights at Four Seasons LG in November 2012, and had a great time.

From the moment we left the airport, and were whisked away to the Four Seasons lounge to wait for our sea plane departure to the resort, we knew we were going to be well looked after! The sea plane transfer took around 45 minutes, and provided a great introduction to what the Maldives was going to have to offer (tip - sit on the right hand side of the plane if you can - more to see)

Once we arrived at the resort and checked in, we were taken by golf buggy to our over water suite, which didn't disappoint! It was huge and had everything you could possibly need.

While our suite provided access to the water, we spent most of our days relaxing on the beach. The sand was soft and clean, and the water warm and clear, a great place to relax and catch up on a bit of reading.

We dined in all of the restaurants in the resort, with the Moroccan one, Al Barakat, being our favourite (I'd recommend the Bedouin Feast to any meat lover). Fuego Grill was our second favourite followed by Cafe Landaa and then Blu

The Seabar was a fantastic place for a cocktail pre or post dinner, and is one of the most chilled out places I've ever sipped a mojito! It is worth hanging around after dinner for the daily shark feeding session!

Apart from relaxing on the beach, we enjoyed a massage (which I'd highly recommend - one of the best spa treatments I've ever had), went on a snorkelling trip to a neighbouring island, which was great fun, and hired a jet ski and were taken out to open water where we saw hundreds of playful dolphins and some manta rays which was a great experience

Would highly recommend it to anyone planning on visiting the Maldives

We stayed at Landaa in October 2012 and are still talking about our trip and the standard of this resort. It was our first (and hopefully not the last of many trips to the Maldives) and we feel that the benchmark has been set and hard to beat.

As a family of three with a young child we felt that we had all had a holiday without compromise. The beach villas are very spacious and sit within their own private compound with direct access to the beach. The sofa was converted to a bed for our daughter and provided more than ample accommodation. Bicycles are provided to each guest and after a little practice all of us cycled to the various venues around the island. The spa, the main pool and foyer area are all well set out and relaxed and never over subscribed.

There is no compromise on the quality of food with a variety of cuisines at the four venues (plus in room dining a nd theme nights) meant that during our eight night we had a variety of dining options to choose from. Also you can have breakfast at Blu as well at the main restaurant which provides some variety and a beautiful outlook to start the day.

As is typical with the FS brand kids were well truly catered for and made to feel welcome whether at the excellent kids club, the marine discovery centre or at the various restaurants with child friendly menus. The staff at the resort are excellent and attend to the detail like a family birthday during our stay, a mozzie net rigged up for our daughter, restaurant reservations, pool toys and attentive housekeeping.

We were also impressed with the seamless way our transfers were handled without un necessary delays and courteous staff. In summary the accolades and consistent excellent reviews are well deserved and recognize the calibre of this resort and have probably 'spoilt us' for other resorts in the Maldives.

Room Tip: For families with young children prefer beach villas.

We loved our first holiday in May 2012 so much, went back for a second stay in Jul 2012 and had another super holiday. Snorkelled with mantas and a couple of whale sharks, dived, lazed and generally had a nice time. The kids (boys 8 & 3) still talk about the resort staff by name. Going back hopefully in July 2013. Highly recommended for both families and couples (based on the ones we talked to :-) )

About the rooms. Stayed in a sunrise water villa the first time and loved it though worried about the 4 year old falling on the stairs to the outside loft bed. The second time with the 4 year old in mind, chose a beach bungalow which was awesome - kids loved chasing the hermit crabs on the beach. Only caveat that the plunge pool with the bungalow is very deep and we worried about the 4 year old falling in while we napped or something. With hindsight actually feel the water villa was safer for the younger one :-) the staff did caution us when we made our reservations.

Dear Alok J,

It was nice to read how much you and your family enjoyed your visits last year to The Maldives; so much so that we had the delight of welcoming you back twice in two months. Taking the opportunity to experience both Water Villas and Beach Bungalows is a great idea.

Please let me know when your plans bring you back to this part of the world as I would be delighted to assist with the details of your stay. For the Beach Bungalows, we are able to make a protective fence around the plunge pool to prevent your children being able to access the pool without your supervision. We would be happy to set this up for your future stays.

With best wishes,

Martin Cody
