“Heavenly Holiday.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

Our experience of SIV was wonderful. We stayed from Feb 16th to March 2nd. We were a tad apprehensive after reading some of the unfavourable comments, however the holiday was brilliant from start to finish.
The island is very lush and the wildlife is interesting. The beaches were clean, safe, beautiful. The ocean is warm crystal clear and teaming with exquisite fish. Feeding time at the end of the jetty is a must, if like me one is a little nervous in deep water, you can see Sharks, Rays, fish of all sizes zipping around for the titbits fed by the staff. Amazing experience.
Our room was a superior bungalow and was very clean furnished well and comfortable. Our room staff were all helpful friendly hard working people, willing to help you get the most of your stay. I THANK THEM ALL.
The general feel of the Island was one of relaxation and Mr Waheed and his staff had good manners and a good sense of humourWe were always happy with the selection of meal choices and cleanliness of the restaurant area.. We felt very happy relaxed and welcome on SIV and certainly will visit again

Room Tip: Superior bungalows are great.

Just spent 4 days in a supior bungalow and fell in love with the place. Was concerned going all that way to a 3* Hotel and reading the inconsistant reviews on line. It's not the Four Seasons but so chilled and relaxed it more then made up for it. Room was perfect, beach and ocean even better, was also concerned that there was no pool but after an hour in the ocean…who cared.
Staff were not the friendly think due to their fate as the place is closing for 8 months for a renovation. Very relaxed, no shoes on the whole time, very idyllic and quirky, loved it, would go again for sure and would say dont go by the negative comments, i found the whole place positive…miss it very much.

Room Tip: Supior room on the side of the island where the bar is, the other side gets windy and is close to th...

Our forth time in the Maldives we went here by chance and found it an excellent choice for the money.we stayed in a superior room (all inclusive) and it proved to be a good standard of room on the best beach on the island. There was a fridge, good air conditioning and coffee facilities. The food and drink were reasonable with excellent service from all the friendly staff. The boat transfer was safe and speedy and although apprehensive about not taking a sea plane it worked well.I would recommend this island highly for beach and comfort and the snorkling was adequate. The only downside being the extras.....hiring beach towels, mattresses and wifi these should be in an all inclusive package. The island had a nice relaxed no news no shoes feel, however the island is closing in May for a refurb and they are doubling the room capacity and this will have a very detromental effect.

Room Tip: The superior rooms all face the best beach and are worth the upgrade, the water bungalows are poor c...

Great place, second visit. For the budget, this place exceeds expectations. The location of the bungalow and it's views of the ocean were awesome and the regular friendly room service (twice a day) kept the place very comfortable. Food was good, 3 meals a day - and the restaurant / bar staff always smiled and were willing to chat. If you're up for just idle luxury, total peace and quiet except for the noise of the lapping waves at your doorstep, this beats it all. We'll definitely go back :)

This was our 4th visit in 4 years...have to say we enjoy it more and more each time we go....stayed in a Superior room which as always was lovely clean and comfortable

Food we find is excellent....lots of fish as expected due to the location...lots of salads etc always fresh and lots of it

There are lots of international guests at this island....was great to meet up with a few other couples that are also repeat guests that were at the island the same time as us for the last few years

We did the evening fishing trip again which I would recommend....some big fish were caught and its great to see them cooked up to eat......cant get much fresher than that!!

This island is one of the most relaxed islands that there is.....nothing is too much trouble for the staff....they always look to improve things and are very polite and always say hello

Dont be put off by the negative reviews again this time I met people here from the UK who had read the reviews and were surprised by them once they had arrived...remember when booking you are not booking a 5 star resort you are booking one of the lower end resorts but there is nothing wrong with the island.....you have lots of food....lovely superior rooms.....a stunning bar area....amazing snorkelling and sealife just off the jetty...lovely crystal blue sea and stunning beaches....only negative for us is that the island is closing in May for refurbishment and will not be open for our usual November holiday

Book go and enjoy!!!!

Room Tip: Superior rooms are lovely
