We were greeted on arrival at Male airport by Lily's rep that managed to get the seaplane check in done very quickly even with all the confusion surrounding the MAT counters. We had to spend more time than usual at Lily’s Male lounge due to persistent thunderstorms that delayed our seaplane departure. The lounge is very comfortable but after spending a few hours there we only got some snacks after enquiring. A variety of drinks were readily available though.
Arriving at Lily Beach by seaplane is an experience on its own and we were pleasantly surprised with all the arrangements. We had a staff member waiting for us at the pier to take us immediately to our water villa where we did the check in due to the long wait we had at Male, we were told which we thought was very thoughtful.
Due to the recurring thunderstorms on our arrival day and evening we thought our week was completely ruined but following day was business as usual with the odd shower but wonderful weather overall. Food is good, especially at Lily-Maa where you can choose what and how much you want to eat. Due to the platinum package you end up over doing it in the calorie intake chapter and after a couple of days we decided not to have lunch at all and just enjoy the sun and pool at our water villa deck and the uncountable hours of snorkeling. At this stage we want to call the attention to management irt the mini-fridge which is refilled every day as part of the platinum plan. The drink list excludes juices or any kind of non sparkling beverages which we believe is wrong when you have 2 different brands of beer?? It would also be an excellent touch if they added a couple pieces of fruit or even “leftover” pastries from breakfast?
We would like to thank all the staff members at Lily Beach but 2 in special, Mr. Waheed from housekeeping and Faseeh from Lily-Maa restaurant, well done to both of them, they quickly learnt our names, our tastes and our needs and helped our stay be as memorable as it could be.
Another word to management… where were you? We spent a bit of a fortune in this resort, spent one full week there and we still do not know who runs the place? It would have been nice to have been introduced to management just for that extra feeling of “home away from home” you so advertise…

One thing left a sour taste in our mouths and we hope it was just bad luck and not a recurrent thing. After all was so very well organized at Lily Beach for our very early departure, early wakeup call, early bag collection, early breakfast, as soon as we got out of the seaplane at Male, we saw no one from Lily Beach to help us until we flew out of the Maldives... We called Lily Beach twice to enquire just to be told the first time to wait as they were going to check and after not receiving any call back and now panicking as we could not find our luggage, we were told that there was nothing Lily Beach could do and I should address this with management on my return. We finally found our luggage and did all departure procedures on our own.
All in all an excellent value for money experience, we do recommend it and will return but next time for a longer period as when you spend just a week when you settle down and start really enjoying the place it is time to leave…
