Four words sum up this accommodation and Gail, the proprietor: Welcoming, friendly, considerate and trusting. Also, In my experience, Hafod Grange has a unique feel. The barn conversion is well thought out with 3 bedrooms and a kitchen/lounge/2 bathrooms on the top floor: A large dining room and lounge on the ground floor. I was the only guest and Gail, whom I'd never met before, was happy to leave me to it (she lives in a house across the track) after a full walk-through. It was like having my own house! Snacks were provided on arrival. Breakfast provided a multitude of options, including a lot of home-made produce and 'real' vegetarian options. At no time did I feel that there were 'house rules'. Gail showed a genuine interest in me as a guest and my needs. She actually gave me a lift to the soccer game I was attending in Goytre and picked me up later that evening on her return - service above and beyond the call!
Bedrooms were simply that - no TV's or tea and coffee facilities - places to relax and sleep. The kitchen/lounge next to the bedrooms provided all that as well as a place to mingle with other guests. I really appreciated the fact that I could feel so relaxed in somewhere new to me.
The location is spectacular once the half-mile or so of track has been negotiated with lots of outdoor interests to pursue. I am so glad I chose this accommodation from the many options available in the area. Thanks again, Gail, from John Higgins
