“Sweet place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

We are a family of 4, (kids 9 and 12) who spent 3 weeks in the El Bolson area. We picked this hostel because it was located near some friends of ours, and it turned out to be a winner. We used it in 3 chunks of time, as we also did 2 hiking trips in the mts at the refugios. The owners are super sweet and helpful (and a wonderful musician too!) The kitchen had 3 sinks and 2 stoves, so lots of room for cooking, though only one refrigerator (which got crowded at times) We cooked most of our meals, being on a budget, so that was great. Argentinian breakfast was included with home made sweet breads and jams, my son and husband loved it. (my daughter and I unfortunately can't eat wheat,) Fruit, yogurt and cereal also provided.
We used the 4 bunkbed room, with a nice deck on it looking at the mts. The room worked well for us as a family, though I did think it might be a little small for 4 strangers to get roomed together and need to move around each other. There were rooms with a double bed and 2 bunks, which would have been nicer for us, but we went with the lower price of the bunkbed room. I am tall (6ft2in) so I was a tad long for the beds because of the footboards. But other than that the beds were very comfy. The place is new and beautiful, brightly painted, a very welcoming building with beautiful stain glass mandalas and mosaics. The grounds are just rough grass, with out much shade, so the yard is not really a great hang out spot during the heat of the day. It is far from town, more than a mile to the main plaza (same elevation, no hills). We are hikers/walkers so not a problem, but other may not like the long town commute on foot. My hint would be to walk down the (basically) unused airstrip instead of next to the dusty road for a more pleasant walk. While we were there, a new corner market store opened up close by, so getting some fruit or milk became much easier than having to walk all the way into town.
No lock out hours, they give you an electronic "key" to get in the building at odds hours, so very easy that way.
We were happy with our stay. Thank you Alejandro and Adrianna!!

Another solid hostel experience in Patagonia. We found this hostel on one of the booking sites and were a little wary as it was very new - we need not have been! We originally booked for 2 nights and extended 3 more times until after a week we decided it was time to continue our adventure. Within the course of the week the hostel went from being empty to full on a couple of occassions but never felt crowded.
We had a double room which came with a balcony and ensuite. The hostel has a super large kitchen and a laundry. Breakfast (cereal, yoghurt, home made bread and jam) and all day coffee, tea was included.
The owners have relocated from BA and have put a lot of time and effort into this hostel and were great hosts (along with Gimena who was working there).
The only negatives would be that noise carries right through the building (not unusual though), security - no keys for the outside rooms (they are on the 2nd floor but sometimes the threat is from within), location is also a little of town although we enjoyed this as like to stretch our legs (its only a 11 peso ride in a taxi).
Value for money was good for this town which seems to be more expensive than some of the other towns in this region.
Recommend staying here, it had a great vibe with Alejandro really looking after his guests and exuding a relaxed vibe.
