“15 minutes by boat, but a world away from crowded Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

What a wonderful way to conclude our trip to Italy by staying at the Murano Palace and getting to know Cesare! The hotel is charming with a comfortable room, nice bathroom and good breakfast — away from the tourist-filled craziness of Venice. But the real value of the Murano Palace is the owner Cesare – our new friend. He was most hospitable, sharing the history of Murano and its glass artisans including his own family! We enjoyed having a glimpse of life on Murano by sitting on the canal for dinner and walking in the morning. (Being the last stop for the water bus before the airport was a plus on the day we left too.) We can't say enough — visit Venice but stay at the Murano Palace!

Oct 22-24
We stayed at Murano Palace on Oct 22-24. It was a wonderful place to stay. Cesare was a great host. The rooms were like the pictures. Breakfast in the morning was good. Cesare son's restrant was around the corner and it was great food. The only draw back was the stairs, that you had to carry suitcases up. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

Room Tip: travle light, heavy suitcases and italy do not get along.

A winner as everyone else has described. A beautiful place with an elegant, well-appointed room that overlooks a canal. We were in the blue room and it was just like the pictures. Everything in the room worked and was very clean and well kept. There was a fridge in the room stocked with a few freebies (pops, juice and cookies) a simple but appreciated touch. The owner is gracious and very friendly. He let us use a Rick Steve’s Venice guide, which really enhanced our stay.

Breakfast was competitive with the other places we stayed in Italy and Austria with yogurt, breads, croissants, eggs, jams, honey, fruit, coffee, tea and juice. Enough food to start the day and it was all tasty (especially the croissants from a local baker, amazing).

Being on the island seemed a lot easier than being in Venice proper, Murano was less crowded, quieter and much easier to find our way around. The ferries to Venice run frequently, they are on time and they went directly to many places we wanted to go. We were very happy that we chose to stay on the island but if you choose to, know that there is no night life there and even very few places to eat supper late during the week. The island goes to bed early and gets up early. Buying a ferry pass is well worth the money in Venice, lets you get on and off as much as you like and we got full value from ours.

We were definitely happy with this choice even though it was a bit above what we normally spend, the room was 180 Euros per night; we recommend the Murano Palace and we would love to stay here again one day.

This was a lovely stay, mostly because of the lovely host Ceasar who kindly explained everything we needed to know to us and drew us maps. The hotel was very nice and clean. The room was cosy with a nice bathroom! The coffee was the best!!
The island Murano is nice with alot of art made of glass, but the restaurants closes early, so make sure your not hungry before you come here at night.
Overall, a lovely stay! :)

Be sure you want to be 10 minutes from Venice

It is a great little hotel

We explored by day and ate on Murano at night

There is not a lot of choices but we ate well and at fair prices

The best was the red room with balcony

Some of the rooms look on to the alleyway so be specific

Breakfast is adequate continental

The owner is very helpful.

It was great to spend seven nights on this quiet island. The ferry to Venice is no problem. Just watch the hours of service

We decided on Murano Palace after reviewing other places to stay in the island. We are very happy we did. The location is very convenient and overlooking the canal. Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgraded room which is on the top floor with a nice view of the canal. The room was very clean and elegantly decorated. Very comfortable bed and individually controlled room fan/temperature. Nice bathroom with a bath and shower and plenty of hot water. We enjoyed waking up to the continental breakfast before we started our day. The hotel is well built, tastefully decorated, meticulously maintained and well run. It is obvious the owner, Cesare, takes pride in his Palace and values his guests. Cesare was an wonderful host, such a gentleman, and very helpful in seeing to our needs and giving us guidance on the area. I highly recommend Murano Palace!

Room Tip: There aren't too many places to stay in Murano and hotels in Venice are very expensive. Murano...

Murano Palace was a perfect place to stay post cruise and visit Venice. The room was lovely and very romantic. As we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary, we were surprised with a lovely bottle of champagne in our room, waiting for us. A quiet place to sleep, hot water aplenty and a beautiful breakfast room. Cesare, our host is very friendly and full of information to help us visit the island of Murano. Easy to find, just 2 minutes from the boat dock. Highly recommend.
