“Excellent Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Stayed here several times over the last couple of years when visiting family in Market Drayton.
The rooms are basic, but perfectley adequate, clean & tidy etc with toiletries to use, tea & coffee, plus hearty breakfast included for the price.

Room Tip: All rooms are chalet style, almost a mini Travel Lodge.

The rooms at this place have been thrown up by developers it's as cheaply done as possible. I found it depressing to spend any time in. The staff are very nice however which helped a bit.

This is our local 'carvery' style pub, and being independently run they are very generous with the portions. It's one of those places where they ask if you want everything on the carveryl, and you sit back and wonder how you will eat it all! Good value at about £8.00 for thee adult carvery, and a good selection of childrens food on the menu too. It's not just the sunday lunch, the portions are generous whatever you have off the menu, from the light bite baguettes through to the normal food menu. Well worth a visit, good selection of ales, al well kept, and the staff are friendly as well.

We went for a mid-week carvery lunch at the end of May. The Four Alls has been our favourite place to eat during the last five years. In fact we have also had our Xmas Day Lunch there for the last five Christmases. Each time the food and service have been exceptional and we have thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately, this last time was very disappointing. The service was appalling. We had to wait at the bar to be served for about five minutes as all the staff appeared to be in the kitchen! Then when we went to the carvery, we had to wait again as no-one was there to serve. The look of the vegetables was not really appetising. The cauliflower cheese looked like it had been there for hours! (It was only 1245!) I had beef which was really tough and my husband had pork - again tough!

Come on Four Alls, this is not like the standard we have always received. I am sorry, but I just had to post this review because, as I have said, we were really disappointed.

Over all the stay was good the evening meal and beer along with the sevice was very good. The breakfast was excellent.
The room was OK what you would expect from a budget motel. My main concern was lights that did not work and the hot water was scolding I mean dangerously HOT. Wi Fi was hit and miss but that could have been other users draining the signal. In general the rooms could do with a bit of maintenance and a spruce up, hinges oiling make sure everything opens and shuts properly, batteries in the remote etc.

We were staying here for 1 night, and thank goodness it was only 1 night!!!

Room seemed ok on first arrival and we were quite happily relaxing when bang goes the power, this was after being in the room for over 60 minutes, quick check of other rooms to see if it was just everyones power, nope just ours!!. Off to reception we go to be asked straight away "have you changed a lightbulb?" strange first question and at this point alarm bells were ringing....... Lady came to fix the power and after 20 minutes power back on.......Power goes again after 10 minutes!!!!

In the end we were given another room to get ready in as we had a party to go to with the promise of the room power being fixed by an electrician, after moving things back into the room 5 minutes pass and the power goes again!!!!

We were offered no reduction in the cost of the room as we had a changed a lightbulb!!!! No all we did was to move the lightbulb from one light to another to see if it was the bulb or the switch. On the 2nd time the power went the lady actually removed the lightbulbs to try and eliminate the problem, but surprise surprise the power still went without the bulbs being present.

Will be contacting trading standards and HSE as there is a serious electrical problem in this Inn waiting to cause someone serious harm or even a fatality!!!!

Be warned the water is so hot it could take your skin off as well

Room Tip: Choose another hotel!!!

We have been eating here for the past four years and have not been disappointed yet! The carvery lunch is very good value for money and everything is cooked beautifully. There is no carvery in the evening, it is from the menu, but again it is superb. We have gone for our Xmas Day Lunch for the past four years and had a great meal each year! The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the whole atmosphere of the place is fantastic! Definitely worth a visit.
