“A beautiful setting regardless of the art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

It is worth making the trip out of Copenhagen to see this museum for the train ride, the 15 min walk and finally the gardens of the museum which are adorned with Henry Moores and blessed with views over the Oresund towards Sweden. A nice cafe restaurant provides somewhere to enjoy a beer or glass of wine if you don't care for the collections.

“Another succesfull visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

This is an overwhelming museum. During the years we have spent hours here. This time first at the Arctic Exhibition and after having a lunch at the restaurant, we enjoyed the Jorn/Pollac Exhibition. It was too crowded, so I need to plan a whole day here.

Beautifully designed museum with wonderful interconnecting spaces in stunning seaside setting. Cafe really good too. Worth going irrespective of exhibition just to enjoy the space.

“Confusing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Louisiana is located 30 min north of the city in a beautiful setting on the coast. But...
We found the layout at Louisiana to be very confusing. I'm still not sure if we saw all that we could have. I also found some of the "art" to be questionable. Without having the Copenhagen Card for "free" admission I would call it a ripoff. Definitely not worth the trip from Copenhagen.

“Impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Louisiana museum is situated in Humlebaek and it takes half an hour to get there from Copenhagen central station. From the train station is a short walk to the museum which is situated in a residential area. The name of the museum is derived from the name of the wife (Louise) of the first owner of this place. It houses modern and contemporary art and is situated on the Oresund sound. It also has a beautiful sculpture garden with an enjoyable view of the sea. Somehow this combination of sea with a sculpture garden is very unique and peaceful. Inside and outside you will find beautiful sculptures by Henri Moore, Giacometti, Jean Arp, Alexander Calder and Miro. The museum buildings are interconnected by glass corridors and the view of the sea from the museum is impressive. Artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso and Robert Rauschenberg are also represented in the museum. The exhibition about Arctic harsh life was also interesting. Museum has also a Café which is serving contemporary Danish cuisine that we have all enjoyed. I recommended this museum to those which love art and are visiting Copenhagen and Denmark.
