“Fabulous art and sculptures”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is a must see if you visit Copenhagen. It is a short train ride (30 minutes from Nyhaven), located in a quiet residential area north of Copenhagen. Museum is on the grounds of and inside a beautiful estate, overlooking the sea. Sculptures are located all over the grounds. Awesome cafeteria with quality food with plenty of seating inside and out. Go for lunch. Interesting exhibits. We saw Yoko Ono exhibit---very quirky but worth the time to view, especially if you were a Beatles fan. One caution: be prepared to walk about a mile from train station to the Museum. Nice walk in good weather, not sure about later in the year. Also, admission included in Copenhagen Card.

“Brilliant! Must visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The museum is by far the most breath taking museum I have been to. More for the way it has used its location and setting to enhance the items on display. I found the location and the way the museum has been designed to be of more interest than the pieces on display.

“Calder Sculptures Frame a Magnificent Sea View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The setting of the museum is so beautiful and the sculpture collection so nicely placed that we kept popping out of the doors of the galleries to roam outside. The galleries were interesting too, of course. I liked the combination of familiar artists and especially Danish ones I didn't know. I recommend the permanent installation called "Gleaming Lights of the Souls" by Yayoi Kusama. There is an easy to miss white door that you step through to experience it. We spotted it because a short line had formed.

“An incredible place for art, beauty and nature lovers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is definitely one of the best art museums I have ever been to. The permanent collection is excellent and they do great temporary shows. The museum is set out in a unique way that takes you trough it's incredible landscapes of architecture and nature. Right by the sea, this is a fabulous place to spend the day. The restaurant does a great buffet menu, so I recommend staying for dinner!

“An outstanding art museum in a memorable setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

If you are going up to Kronborg Castle (Hamlet's castle) take the detour to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Its permanent collection of sculpture is impressive, and we particularly liked the Picasso and Giacommetti. But the temporary exhibition on Pop Art Design was equally impressive. It is one of the great small art museums of Europe.
